Your dashbord looks like a Las Vegas slot machine! Serious now: Dutch legislation describes certain angles of sight for lights. 45 degrees inwards, 80 degrees outwards, 5 degrees downwards etc. Likely UK legislation does the same. Are your lights compliant?

I will be honest,
I may fit another set of stop tail led strips further back, as these are the only ones possibly causing an obscure hazard.
I am unsure if the rear lights comply, so I will most likely be fitting a pair of round cheesburger E4 approved lights on temporary brackets to elminate this issue for its test. I think once the original can is removed, there is probably no issue, but I wont risk these lights causing a problem, even if it means the ones I have are fitted like the demo trike on some sort of riser bar.
The LED ones do look slick on the crossbar, and yes I was going for totally mental gauges :-) All the things I wanted in my MNR really, but that never made it past the rolling road ;D

All being well my welder has sold, and as soon as I have the money, I shall be ordering the last item for my kit, which is the USA spec fuel sender from Tek Tanks UK, this is then the final thing to complete my TR1KE, apart from the steering spline bar I will order from CBS.
:-)

Got the new tunnel riser cut tonight, drilled and fitted the Fuel Gauge, Ignition switch, Immobiliser, Hazard switch, 12V Cig socket and Fan overide switch. Took them all back out and initially set to work covering with a good carbon effect film, but it looked awful, so I have covered it with Leatherette material, looks much nicer and now all the instruments are fitted its really taking shape, will cover the centre tunnel on Thursday and then see how slick it looks.

Has had a good day on the Trike, been tidying wires up in the dash area. Taking the original R1 plugs out, making the centre tunnel quick release. After a brainstorming session, I have made a bracket to hold the switchgear. Now Nigel can make this out of metal :-) been setting up the mounting panel for the rectifier and ECU, had some life out of the Speedo Healer today once the clock was plugged in. The last 2% of the build is wiring and tidying. Also mounted my seat forward, as I was struggling to reach the pedals.
I also added a seperate high level stop and tail tail on the back of the airbox, that wa there should be no problem with the rear lights....

Managed to make a fix solution for the choke cable after drilling the housing too much :-) by the use of some aluminium bar, a lathe and some skill :-)
I also managed to drill and tap the oil cooler bolt, despite forgetting the drill and tap, I should have known my dad would have the right stuff...

Finally got another Rivnut gun, getting all those bits sorted now, also think I ma go to a manual stick shift as opposed to the kliktronic, well will order a cable and see how its going to work, I suspect it will be more precise, and if nothing else a good backup if I decide to use the Kliktronic. Got the firewall rivnutted, number plate bracket is rivnutted to the swingarm, and centre riser tunnel rivnutted to the centre :-) No idea how I managed without it :-)

Re-soldered the clock loom, its much better soldered than on bullets, also managed to finally wire in the fan over ride switch, next job will be the wiring for fuel, water, oil P and oil T senders, all at the rear, think I ma run CAT5 cable for all these as the are only light guage wire and CAT5 should be fine with a solid copper core. Also managed to fit and solder into the loom the Digital Gear Selector, I think I will opt for a manual gear change initially, I will leave the Klicktronic unit in situ and also the paddle gears on the steering wheel maybe, but I think a more positive response will be a cable operated gear change.

A great night of work tonight, checked my fuel sender worked, spot on, fitted the LED slow flash relay, why did I waste my time with the resistors, this relay is the mutts nuts. Made some temporary light brackets, have another piece of stainless bar to make a proper gearshift lever. Been setting up the rear panel, which currently has the ECU, Rectifier, Relays, Fuses, Healtech Speedo Healer. Still need to get the wiring run for the senders ( maybe tomorrow) and need to secure the fuel line, so I can fill the tanks, crack it into life, fill it with coolant, check for leaks. Once its all fueled and coolant happy, its time for the chain to be fitted, and a possible test drive :-)

Just spent all afternoon removing custom brackets with a view to Powdercoating them and re-fitting, brackets include, ECU Mount, Headlight Brackets, Number Plate Bracket, Switchgear Mount, Rear LED Mounts. Fitted the rear LED Lamps, Made another gear shift lever, just needs turning down to 22mm Dia now. Covered the centre tunnel in Leatherette to match the upper tunnel, been tidying wires at the rear, and getting ready to wire in the fuel sender and water temp sender, not sure about fitting the oil temp and pressure unit just yet, maybe once I know everything else is okay. Cut the fuel line back to a better length and need to fit back onto fuel filter, Broke my RivNut gun :-( Started making the clutch stop bracket. Fitted the switchgear and it all looks and works great, Need to make brackets for the fuel and EXUP units, Still need to concentrate on brackets for the Hand Brake Caliper and exhaust. Need to order a 1.5Mtr Gear Change cable

A really good day today, managed to get the fuel pump all done, plumbed in from 6mm outlet to 10mm inlet, Rear Swing Arm number plate mount fitted on quick release system, made an exhaust bracket, will probably get a more substantial one made, made a clutch stop plate, will powder coat next week, fitted a bigger car battery, started the engine again today, all sounds and runs fine, very impressed the Stage 6 choke works well. Rear LED Lamps are bright and clear, fuelled up with about 2 gallons of fuel, interestingly the fuel fills across to the nearside tank, not sure if this works like this filling to the top. So Fuel Gauge currently showing just under 1/4 of a tank.

Made 2 brackets for my gear cable, I have used a boat control cable so it has a notch on the metal sleeve and not a threaded sleeve like the last one I used, I made a funky bracket in the tunnel, and a rough one in the engine bay ( I will make a nicer one in here ) The operation is nice and smooth giving approx 75mm travel, so lots of room for gear change, I am just waiting on the 5mm Rose Joint and then this job is complete. I have ordered the double ended spline bar to make the steering joints spot on and have the steering to align after setting the camber up, once this is done the trike is pretty much complete, My aim is to get it to Road Track Race around the 20th January for there inspection and then its test.

Looking good Nick, be great to see a tr1ke at he shows!!
What steering column are you using, just wondered why you haven't got the switches converted to use stalks on the column?

Hi Scott, I am using a Fiesta Steering column, I decided against the usual with regular stalks, don't want my trike looking like all the others. My trike uses all the original switchgear which to me looks much neater, I have utilised the orginal ignition switch into the upper riser tunnel, along with an aftermarket scooter choke lever, I have a separate fan overide switch, I have cut all the original ignition switch off the column. I don't want to follow the crowd :-) Not sure if I need to have an immobilser installed (which I have) and or a removable wheel as I won't have a lock on the column anymore. Getting rather giddy now though....
