Hi Bob
I'm going down to RTR in the next couple of weeks to have a look and hopefully place my order for a Rocket. I have a limited budget as well. Having a clearout of the garage at the minute, will be visiting a lot of carboot sales and ebay over the next few weeks to top up the cash reserve. I've had some great advice from other builders on this forum about selling the unwanted items from your donor car to help with the budget.

Hi Bob, sorry, RTR is Road Track Race Ltd, manufacturer of the Atomic/tR1ke and another one that slips my mind. Good bunch of chaps. Watch out for Stuart though if you go to MEV. Dodgy character. ;D

Welcome Bob You will be fine with either RTR or MEV, the choice depends on the car. If you go for an Exocet you will be with MEV, if you go for a Rocket you will be with RTR. It's all very complicated to start with, but makes sense very quickly. Don't worry about Stuart, Julie more than makes up for him Cheers Mattsmev

Bob,
To help...
1) Yes both MEV & RTR sell cars. 2) MEV stands for Mills Extreme Vhicles 3) Stuart Mills is Stiggy. 4) They (Stuart aka Stiggy & Julie) are very helpful 5) The cars are very good. 6) Everyone on the forum is helpful. 7) I think the banter is called "humour", if your serious pick up the phone, make an appointment and have a demo...we did and happily building an Exocet...

Just to further clarify, Road Track Race Ltd manufacture and sell the MEV Rocket, MEV Atomic and MEV tR1ke and MEV Ltd manufacture the MEV Exocet and MEV Sonic7. RTR are based in Nottingham and MEV are a few miles away in Mansfield. As you have now gathered we are all slightly mad (both manufacturers and owners) but that simply helps the world go around RTR
