Agree FB is easier, athough its too easy to just consume info there and not contribute too. Facebook doesn't include much sharing of info/progress and is better suited for specific questions. I guess all we can hope is people will share their progress to keep current and future builders interested and keep the kit car market alive! Too be honest its the build threads and what people have done that help inspire future builds not just just the demo vehicles. I don't think we're reliant on the threads on the forum to keep the kit car market alive. The community is larger than the posts on here and is much more active on social media now. We do point people to the forum as well as the social media pages when we chat to them at shows and through other media but they choose the preferred way of communication. There's a lot of builders who don't go on any and just crack on with the odd email here and there. The social media users do share their build progress, but in small and quick hits rather than 25 pages of detail. Neither is a bad thing, it just how it suits different people.

It would also be helpful if there were more people actively involved in the running of the club. As the manufacturer we are happy to be involved but we shouldn't be taking on the club activities as well. Whether it be meets, calendar production, parties or merchandise.

Maybe part of the problem is that RTR used to point people here when they bought a kit, most of those have now built their kits. They obviously no longer point people here who buy Rocket2 or whatever other kits they sell, so no new blood. Facebook doesn't help, I am on the groups but much prefer this place and direct anyone with questions here at every oportunity.
I will be doing another build soon (starting next year) and will document it here like I did with my Rocket although it won't be a Mev so feel to follow when I start it.

I am finding it quite ironic that the busiest thread lately is the one commenting about the lack of action!

I am finding it quite ironic that the busiest thread lately is the one commenting about the lack of action! Exactly! Hopefully we will get some more posts of what everyone is up to on their kits.

The other day I threw the dust cover off the Rocket for the first time in months, and maybe the 3rd time since the baby was born, didn't know where to start. Picked off what was to be a nice easy 2 hour job and took the day at it, still not right, but god it felt good trying. Going to commit to skiiving off work a couple of hours a week while the baby is in creche, only way I'll get to work on it.
