So slow progress, no apologies, just taking my time, lots of wire brushing and finally this weekend got the the callipers painted, I decided to build a quick frame with odd bits of timber and clamped it all together to hang the components for paint. I decided to use a small brush and lay down thin coats first, and ended up doing 3 coats with 30 min gaps and doing it all with a small brush. This meant I had no runs, took me longer, but had several hours yesterday afternoon whilst my Wife was out with the girls... This morning I took them down and then touched up where required, I suspect I will need to do more of this, when I get them rebuilt and installed back on to the car....if I had powder coated it would be a critical process to not chip anything, with paint it is much more forgiving, if I chip it, I can re-paint! Autofren repair kits ordered.

Exciting indeed. I'm have to do this vicariously through you - I live 5,000 miles away and can't find a carrier who's even remotely interested in giving me a shipping quote.

I am feeling down about COVID impacting my collection date, I guess looking like the New Year now, then I saw your post and thought....actually I am lucky, I will get it eventually. I feel your pain!

Are you buying from the US or the UK? I'm on the west coast of Canada, so I could buy from either. I would expect shipping from the UK to be higher, but the kit price from Exomotive in the US is quite a lot higher. I prefer the UK design too.

Used to do lot of importing in the UK 20 years ago, worked with a firm who were really good, not sure they are still trading, I'll see f my contacts are still there & whether it's something they could handle, assuming MEV would package it up correctly.

I've just shipped a kit (not a MEV) from the UK to US West Coast, the shipping company - WBC is located near MEV's previous location and do a great job of packing and shipping but a lot more expensive than it was a few years ago when I shipped a Replicar.

Thanks for the link to WBC. I've just sent you a PM to avoid cluttering up Geoff's thread.

The wait is becoming unbearable this weekend, I am collecting on Monday, hiring a LWB Transit that I am collecting at 10am, have to walk there because they have no parking...so a nice 40 min walk first, maybe another piece of excess Christmas weight lost! I have a couple of pallets to put on the bottom if required, an old yoga mat, cardboard, old towels and some large pieces of table covering material...from the days when we used to do in person displays...those were the days....anyway lots of bits to protect the kit and a couple of 4m 25mm ratchet straps to hold it all down...it is a 90 min drive so will be fun and can afford to take it slow to ensure nothing movies around.
My major concern at this stage is what do I do with it when I get home, remember I am doing this in a narrow block garage, which currently has the rolling chassis, and everything a chap needs to keep sane..like the blast cabinet, the compressor, 3 petrol lawnmowers that are in the process of repair for resale in the spring, an old golf bag and clubs...just in case I start that again, and, and, and..... So my thoughts are that I use the wooden cribs I built a couple of years ago to set the frame onto, either on its side or above the rolling chassis...it will be a squeeze...and in the process of convincing the boss that I keep the panels in the house to keep safe....not winning that argument at the moment.
So my thoughts are that initially I will have to give up my other garage, that stores my daily driver, with the kit when I get back tomorrow, and spend a few days working out my strategy. Daily driver will have to live outside for a few days...maybe weeks!!
So all very exciting, and after months of standing still on this project, it will be quickly back up to speed, here we go...scream if you want to faster!!

Did you get the kit shipped from the UK already? Geoff is in the UK We can sort out packing the chassis and panels onto a pallet for international customers, all you need to do is get it picked up.
