Good news! Now you don't need a new shock after all. Only a new spring to make it work right!
A visit to them is on my list too.

Nice to read the new spring shows good results. I do reconsider to order an identical spring soon because the swingarm isn't mounted yet. Does this spring fit on a stock R1 shock too or do I have to visit Hyperpro to install one for me? I don't have the tools to remove the spring in a safe way.

Hyperpro guys have a special tool. Relativ simple. A pre loaded spring launched into your face can be ehmm... You know what I mean. Check their website for distribution. The new spring + car suspension setup was € 110 + the Hyperpro engineer joined me on the testride. Double fun! I am not having shares of Hyperpro. Their just next door.

Hi rik! Front height has not changed. The rear is only a bit higher but much progressive stiffer. Now about 14 cm empty tr1ke.
No height measurement yet with me in the car. (will ask Mrs edwinwl) But at highway speed the car sucks to the road like vacuum cleaner and runs comfortable and straight out.
Making the rear higher is no real option because the angle of the pulling side of the chain has to stay horizontal.
Cheers

Greetings from Mtn. City TN.,,,I must ask about the spring rate that Edwin is using now ? Is it a progressively wound spring or straight rate ? Have you adjusted the damping & rebound ?

2x yes!
Progressive spring at the rear. Standard shocks at the front. Will use my Tr1ke for public road 99,5% of the time.
Spring pre load rate is set on car height. Dampers are set as soft as possible without "dancing effect".

Hi from Aust I I had similar problem with lightness at speed was very unnerving - raising the rear to match the original bike ( plus a bit ) solved the problem - drives hands free and true at any speed - I had the trike set at lowest possible thinking race car which left the swingarm in negative territory and this meant the rear was " skipping " at speed easy on yamaha just made "dogbone " links shorter - on the original bike with a pillion rear would be loaded similar to the trike so didnt change spring i also have rear tyre set at 42psi fronts at 15 seems to work well - just turned over 10,000 kms of the best fun in 40years of driving - Alan

Yes indeed,Alan, share some pics. What year was the donor ? Where are shorter "dogbone" links available ? I ask Edwin to tell us what the spring rate of the rear spring is & where it was purchased ?

Fjr1300 has cardan drive?
Likely like r1 the fjr has a link system. Rear shock is connected to rear suspension by a lever system. By changing parts of the lever system you can rise or lower the rear suspension. Hyperpro sells them as well.
Aussies are a sleep now. Will see tomorrow.
