Picked up a kit last week, which has already had 2 owners but never completed, it's a rolling chassis with hopefully all the parts to complete. I've since bought a donor & in the process of stripping it, as I have made an agreement with SWIMBO that the donor is only here 2 weeks. Are there anythings that I need from the donor that I'm likely to forget to take off, any hinges, any trim bits etc. Also a question about coilovers, I'm going with Gaz Gold but does anyone know what length, I rang Dampertech who are offering a good price but he wasn't sure if we needed 12" or 13" can anyone confirm? What did you all use as a steering wheel for IVA? I have the choice of a Momo which I think will fail, or a NB with airbag which will also fail I presume unless I wire the SAS stuff back in, which I hadn't intended to do.

No progress on the Mevster, but the shell is ready to be hauled away, so the build can start next week.

Dropped the shell off at the scrapyard, they wouldn't take it without disclosing the Reg No, never had that before, but as I have the V5C in my name & both VIN plates I'm hoping the come registration I'll get an age related plate. The other day we swapped the engine over, but on having a closer look I need to swap the gearbox as well, the MK1 box has a mechanical speedometer, whereas the MK2 has an electrical or at least that's what I' being told, the MK1 only has 2 electrical connections the MK2 has 3. So we started with The looking closer the front coil springs don't look good. Nor do the trackrod ends So I fitted some new coilovers Then finally ended up with There's only 12 bolts holding the Skate to the frame so I removed them & lifted the frame off, there are also 4 big bolts that hold the 2 subframes to the Exo, I made sure I could undo those & called it a night

How have people secured the brake & 2x fuel pipes down the centre of the frame, the previous owner had pop riveted some tabs on but I don't like them
