Hi, I've been building my Exocet for the past couple of years. Originally had my IVA test booked for 1 April (April Fools day, tempting fate:-) but it was cancelled by the DVSA in March.
Just a heads up if anyone is in the same situation as me.
When my test was cancelled the DVSA sent me an email saying that they would automatically rearrange my test as soon as they could. While I've been waiting I kept checking for updates on the DVSA website. Today it states tests will restart from 4 July, great news. However, it states that they will now no longer automatically rearrange cancelled tests and you need to submit a PT1 priority examination form; quoting your TAS reference. It also mentioned anyone who submitted a test application before the 1 July and is awaiting a date would need to do the same, but you better check the website in case I'm reading it wrong.
But hopefully it now seems that tests can get underway from next Monday :-)

Just seen the same message on facebook and submitted the priority form as I submitted my application ion April and it was released for assessment on 28th April.
Still not hopeful of getting a date anytime soon as looks like they are offering remote testing which you basically need a garage for (ramps/ hoist/ etc) but at least things are starting up again.
My concern is that there is only the one IVA test centre (Oldham) that is within a reasonable drive of Liverpool and Kit cars are bottom of the queue!
Good luck to those waiting for tests.

Yeah fingers crossed that tests start to filter through for everyone that's waiting.
If I hear anything I'll update this thread

One concern is that if the car fails on minor items they are unlikely to allow adjustments on the day "due to Covid rules!". I drove to Oldham last week for an import IVA, even adjustment of headlights was not allowed, or adding red tape to ID the pos battery terminal so I now have a 5 hour round trip AGAIN!
So, not wishing to add to the pressure of getting your car prepared 100% but do not expect any fiddling time at the test, not even in the car park.

Yeah really good point. It's going to be hard not being able to do any adjustments during the test.
I spent today going over the whole car and adding more and more edge trim😁.
Been reading the IVA manual to double check everything. I've also found looking at previous IVA test results on this forum has been a huge help too.
No IVA test date yet but received an email yesterday from DVSA asking me to submit the PT1 so they can arrange a date. So in the meantime this gives me more time to prepare!

Still no update on IVA tests. The email says NOT to ring or keep chasing for updates and they will contact us. Has anyone else had a revised date through yet elsewhere in the UK?
Not that it really matters now as all the shows have been cancelled.

Same here not heard a thing. Very frustrating seeing people arranging drive out and meet ups. Hopefully we have a late summer.

they are booking IVA tests now, I have one in Nottm in Aug booked yesterday. That said the DVSA site states that;
"All cars, vans and motorcycles which usually would require an MOT test will be exempted from needing a test from 30 March 2020. Vehicles must be kept in a roadworthy condition, and garages will remain open for essential repair work. Drivers can be prosecuted if driving unsafe vehicles."
The 6 months exemption ends at the end of Aug.
So if you have insurance and a number plate from the donor then you may escape the death penalty if you are involved in an incident in your Exocet.

Hi everyone,
Just got a date of the 7 September for my rearranged IVA test, my original was booked for 1 April. It's in Newcastle, which was my original choice.
I really wasn't hopeful of hearing anything! However, I noticed on another kit car forum that you can email ivaappointments@dvsa.gov.uk and ask for your cancelled date to be rearranged. I thought I would try it and sent them an email with my TAS reference, VIN and copy of PT1 form. I sent it this Monday and got a response today. I also received a letter from the DVSA today which had my build photos in (just returning them to me)- which I thought was strange but that they must have been looking at my application.
They just sent me an email confirming the date and I have 5 days to ask for it to be rearranged or it will be automatically confirmed.
So, if you had an arranged test cancelled get your email in and fingers crossed you'll get some good news too!

It actually says not to email them or ring them to rearrange and they will contact us. But, having had someone get a date sooner than mine, I sent them a very polite email to see if I'd been missed. Factories (MK, MNR, GBS, etc) are all getting dates before us individuals. Rightly so too.

It all seems to be getting very confusing. I rang the 0300 123 9000 number and the recorded message says if your test was cancelled before July and you have not received a reply then you can email them, although what sort of reply that is I'm not sure.
Don't think there is any harm sending an email to enquire - fingers crossed that you get a test date soon.
