Hi all,
I watched MEV for some years now, always loved the products.
I have decided to build an Exocet having sold my race cars (Subaru Impreza 500hp class winner, Peugeot 205gti Mi16) and got bored of a Honda Civic FN2 Type R a bit quickly. These days I don't have the budget or the desire to run expensive temperamental race cars that you can only use on the track. SO MEV seems an obvious choice.
I have build stuff before in my younger days. Not scared to chop a chassis in half and fabricate new or rebuild engines, boxes or make my own wiring looms. I know how to map the basics on ECU's (Syvecs)
So I know some stuff and have good facilities to build. Always happy to help someone locally if I can too.
However I am firmly a believer in not reinventing the wheel and look forwards to sharing and receiving good advice through here. I want a cost effective project that I can be proud of that isn't going to cost me thousands to run (like the Impreza did).
I am a member at Curborough so its something to throw about on club days that doesn't need a trailer and a small army to keep it going! I think the Exocet fits the bill with the plentiful cheap mx5's about to keep it going.
I see from the facebook group that MEV guys are a friendly helpful bunch......so hopefully I will enjoy the build and get a kick from the speed with my bum 4 inches off the ground!
Cheers
John
