Small update.
The final job pre IVA, exhaust welding booked in for this week.
Hand brake cable cover created, and gear lever surround fitted. Switches fitted and driving lights fitted. Just got to stick trim on all the edges and book it in.

Curious where you found your shifter boot? Homemade? I like it.

Mate you cant use side repeaters as front indicators and both those and the headlights dont look like they are high enough for the test. Could be wrong on the height but Im correct about side repeaters as main indicators.

Just for anyone else reading. The headlights need to be min of 500mm from floor, which mine are. Also I am not using side repeaters as front indicators - these are actually driving\day time running lights and sold as such by CBS (car builder solutions).
However Hammy may be correct that these driving lights need repositioning, so will check with IVA.

Short update - the car is now totally completed and I am waiting for IVA date.
The exhaust was sorted at Skuzzle and they even managed to fit the rear lambda sensor so it didnt foul the tunnel, and now my engine light has gone out. Good job guys.
I fitted a battery tray\bracket so now suspended off the floor as I dont think the floor rivets would have held with all that weight bouncing around.
Hand brake cover created by plastic, scored to bend and then covered in film.
And my best find was a new Flasher Relay that has stopped the manic flashing. All the way from the U.S and here is the info - but note i have a Mk2.5:
Flasher Item Number Led Color: LED Lens: Ford (3211-215-320)

IVA booked. Seems that not all centres have ability to do IVA test, so cant go to my closest which is Guidford. Toss up between Southampton and Yeading, near Hayes. Dont fancy motorway, so doing cross country to Yeading - 50 mins apparently. Earlest date they have is 6th December at 7am......good grief. That is going to be chilly.
If forecast says rain, then going to use one of my 2 cancellation options and just rearrange for next feb\march... as cant be dealing with ice\snow.
This last bit of the saga has really upset me. I basically completed the car in 6-7 months, but by the time IVA centre responds to all emails and more information, it just sets you back. I will have done nothing to the car for 3 months by the time 6th Dec rolls around.
PM me if you know anyone that wants to buy it, so i can get cracking on another one.

7 am!!!! You will have to leave home 5.30-6.00 but there should be little traffic on the road.
I can see the headlines now.. 'IVA TEST CENTRE PRISE FROZEN MAN FROM CAR'

A couple of points you may have missed. 1. Edge trim required to the front side light brackets. 2. Nut caps on suspension bolts needed such as front top wishbone nut. 3. Front indicators and side repeaters, are presumably in the mirrors. 4. Edge of shock spring adjusters may need to be min 2.5mm radius. 5. Air bag steering wheel, you need to prove it is made from shore 50 rubber or fit a collapsible boss. 6. Make sure your headlight position will provide viz of 50% of light at 45 deg on opposite side down to 5 deg below horizontal. 7. Make sure front indicator can be seen at 20 deg on opposite side down to 5 deg below horizontal.

Thanks Stuart for the info, please can you check my answers: 1. Edge trim required to the front side light brackets. - OK WILL DO THIS 2. Nut caps on suspension bolts needed such as front top wishbone nut. - YES GOT NUT CAPS ON EVERYTHING 3. Front indicators and side repeaters, are presumably in the mirrors. - YOU SUPPLIED THE MIRRORS WITH BUILT IN INDICATORS SO I WOULD HOPE THIS IS SUFFICIENT 4. Edge of shock spring adjusters may need to be min 2.5mm radius. - WILL VERIFY 5. Air bag steering wheel, you need to prove it is made from shore 50 rubber or fit a collapsible boss. - ORIGINAL STEERING WHEEL WITH BAG REMOVED AND DOCUMENTED. PRESUME THIS WILL PASS IF ORIGINAL. 6. Make sure your headlight position will provide viz of 50% of light at 45 deg on opposite side down to 5 deg below horizontal. APPARENTLY IF LESS THAN 750mm FROM FLOOR THEN REQUIRED ANGLE REDUCED TO 20 DEGREES. I HOPE SO? 7. Make sure front indicator can be seen at 20 deg on opposite side down to 5 deg below horizontal. YOU SUPPLIED MIRRORS AND THEY CAN ONLY MOUNT ONE WAY REALLY SO HOPE THEY CAN BE SEEN AT THE REQ ANGLES.

air bag wheel rubber cover no longer becomes a protective air bag in a crash so it will need a shore 50 rubber cover. the "less than 750 mm above ground" rule applies to indicators.

I removed the air bag from my original wheel and put it back together, tester didn’t say anything. Had to grind the ‘airbag’ logo off the steering wheel too

protective steering is a multi point area of consideration. From the manual; "The centre boss should be padded or recessed below the level of the rim." Air bag wheels are OK if the centre is below the surface of the rim.
It will be necessary to block access (offside chassis front cockpit triangle with off cut from rear bulkhead PVC) to the side of the pedal assembly to stop the inspectors 100 mm dia ball contacting edges of the brake and throttle pedals that are not 2.5 mm rad.
