FIrst thing on the list is getting it registered. DVLA told me i need the V55/4 form, but everyone else seems to think its the V55/5 form. Can anyone confirm please.
Once sold I plan to do another mk2.5 or mk3 and get the frame powder coated with Candy Red - this colour pops like crazy in the sun. Probably do candy white accessories or more chrome.....and if its the right engine, then i'll turbo.

I don’t think it matters, I used a v55/4 form, filled out everything I could based on the guide to fill it in, and got a T reg back a few weeks later.

The end of the story: Sent off the V55/5 with other forms and all docs and receipts and pictures (same stack i sent to IVA department), and 3 weeks later have finally successfully registered the car and received new 04 age related registration number. Car back on eBay this Sunday, so I can start the whole story again, wiser, better prepared

Congrats on getting finished Russ. Hope you put your next build on the board as enjoyed your build and some very useful bits that I have been able to apply to mine as I hopefully get towards IVA for the spring.
For the relay flashers to stop the rapid indicators, do I need just one of these or one for each LED light? Been searching and I cannot find an answer.
Thanks

Thank you very much. There are two options to fix the rapid indicator flashing. 1: Buy one of those cheap load resistors (1 for each indicator) and fit it in line 2: Buy 1 x flasher relay that has been modified which plugs straight in to where the original one did.
I didnt do the resistors as I had already completed my wiring and didnt want to undo it from my conduit etc etc, and when i was hunting for answers found the replacement relay. Ensure you look at the pins, as many look suitable but I only found 1.
And further to this, i found a video on replacing the offending resistor in the original relay, which would have been awesome and only cost 35p but my resistor was surface mounted and I couldn't change it, hence replacing thw whole relay.

I bought this relay from eBay which did the trick for me. Cheap and adjustable flash rate too...

Finally got the new V5 that shows me as first owner and I have a new '04 registration number. Car is back on the usual sale site, and is ready to be driven away legally.
I am desperate to do another one...

Good day russ
I was undecided whether to post or not because it will read as being critical. It isn't meant to be.
In your ad you mention a tick over problem. If I was a prospective purchaser I would be thinking 'if it's an easy fix why hasn't he done it?' plus 'if it's a new build what else is wrong?'
The car looks excellent but the wheels let it down. Maybe at least take them off and clean both sides even if you choose not to deal with the chips.
Good luck with the sale and apologies for a critical post.

No apologies required. Your right about the wheels not being clean - i was rushed at the time, but should clean and photo again.
Regarding the idle, I am not a mechanic, and did not want to start messing with wiring\connections, but if it doesn't sell i will resolve and keep it for the summer, because it is awesome.
All the best Russ

Well done russ on selling your car. It will be interesting to see what you do different with the next build.

Since the first time saw your thread title many months ago and each time afterwards I looked at the title my thought always was "I wonder how many cars are there in this man's 'fleet' ", couldn't get that thought out of my mind.
Seems I was not far off the mark!

Well guys, it has now gone, hopefully to a good home. Bit gutted as I thought it was a great build.
And now, I plan to chat to Stuart, to see if welding has got a bit better and if clear coat can be done in specific colours etc. Find a Mk3 or decent Mk2 and turbo it etc etc.
If not, then I am going to do a Cobra, prob from DAX (AJ Sports cars) or one from AK sports cars.
I hope to stay fairly active on the MEV forums, to continue to help others, as they have helped me,
Cheers Russ

Russ, give us a shout. Powder coat can be as fancy as you like (depends how much you want to spend). The 170hp lightweight Mk3 chassis is now available
