Time to insure!, any recommendations

Hi All 

Looking to insure, I've looked through past insurance threads. 

So far i have the following companies short listed, have i missed any?

A plan

Adrian Flux
-Wont insure me, could be the London postcode and leaving it on the drive covered.
Footman james -Ive used these guys for all my classic's and vx220, will no lobger insure the MEV:0(
Glynwood

MSM insurance 

Need 2 insure

I have a winner, for anyone else looking. recommend the below.



Adrian Flux: Wont insure me.
Footman James: No longer insure Mev Rockets
MSM insurance : Said they would get back, still no answer.

Glynwood 01543 675163 Ace quoted 253 for the year, un-garaged if needed & 4k a year mileage allowance. Just need to confirm if they will allow track days.

No insurer will cover you for track days as the chances of you having an off are too great.
I would also ask if the car is insured if left unattended. I used Adrian Flux and they said it's only insured whilst I am driving it, not even insured whilst in my garage and certainly not if I leave it unattended in a public place. I just added mine to my car traders policy in the end, which didn't cost any more as I already has that policy.

I am with Need2Insure and they did not have any of the restrictions Adrian Flux have. They might have refused as its not garaged.

I've had a price from A-Plan, they have quoted 305 or 559 with 5 track days, I will get more details in the morning. I take it the track day insurance isn't worth the paper its written on. Anyone have any experience with track-day insurance on the Mev.

Well I'm stunned if they will insure against damage on a track day. Please let us know what they cover and what the policy excess is (maybe it's £10k)

Hi Carl will do....i found this company today, they have added the mev following my enquiry, you can get a price for single day track use online instant price, excess is really fair.

1 day track insurance for me, im high risk. Never been on track, not owned vehicle for more than 6 months. was quoted 103 pounds.

Additional drivers are a nightmare! Most claims are caused by 'Additional Drivers' and none of the accidents are small! Excesses and premiums carry considerable loading.

Hi Spoke to A-plan policy excess is 10 percent of vehicle value.

I ended up going with Glynwood 01543 675163, will add track days if needed at around 86-103 pounds with other companies, to be honest i probably wont get time this year to track the car.

Footman James no longer offer cover for MEV Rocket due to far too many claims.

I phoned today to confirm and they offer insurance for Exocet.

hi mate...sorry missed your reply, they have insured by mev R.  Very helpful and competitive compared to others, they have even allowed my car to sit on the drive any time, most companies wouldn't allow over night parking on a drive. Very happy so far:0)
