Just a thought, regarding the mesh idea around the master cylinder, why not use the large stainless p clips with the rubber insert to go around the chassis, then bolt the mesh to the clip fixing hole ?

ive just been told if I use the wing mirrors that I have purchased I need to disconnect the indicators on them as you are only allowed one per side so with the ones on the wheel wings I will have to remove the ones on the mirrors ? has any one else heard this ? Yes; IVA Manual Section 23, and accompanying table 1. Correct number of side repeaters is 1 on each side. Hasn't changed since my IVA back in 2011. Nothing to say you can't just disconnect one or the other; just make sure that you leave one which adheres to the rules for visibility. Martin

taken hrs for me to finally decide where to fit the fog light switches and heated seat ones finally decided to put them here. Paul, are you using seat belts or harnesses mate? You have to be able to reach the switches when fastened into the seat mate.

Regarding the hazard switches, Browno' s car past iva with them in an identical position to yours, I have mine in the same place along with the display dimmer & fog. Look on his build thread, it's in the Exocet page 3, look for Browno & it's on his build page 5. His car past first time & he was using harnesses.

Gents, I have just fitted the hazard switch in my car I have used the original one does it have to flash or light up as mine does not ? it does tell you on the dash is that ok ? My one illuminates. I believe that it must illuminate as a 'tell tale ' sign. For clarification, use the technical email address that I shared with you. If they say that it must illuminate, don't rush out & buy a new switch, take the switch apart carefully, 2 springs will pop out, then slide out the hazard switch and you will see that it has an led in the pcb (printed circuit board), just solder in a new white led. It gets it's red colour from the painted legend on the face of the switch, if you put a red led in, it may be too dark to see.

Cool, it seems it's one of those discrepancies that keeps coming up with some passing and some failing. I know a few have failed and yet many passed. Good old IVA eh! :-)

Just checked on my mk2 (on the road car not my Exocet) the switch doesn't illuminate, just tell tales on the dash. In my other daily it doesn't illuminate either just tell tales again on dash. As suggested already Id check as the manual is a bit wooly and reads as follows:
9. The hazard warning device must have a telltale warning light (see Note 1)
You could read that as the tell tales are there on the dash......
