Getting fed up with these, always end up with some movement on the hinges when the door opens.
Can anyone help with the procedure to get the mini external hinges set up properly.
Thanks

These hinges are location specific and marked on the rear for left top, left bottom, right top and right bottom. They are available either as a single hinge or a set of four. So first question is did you buy a complete set or four singles? The difference is in the slight chamfer on the rear of each hinge. Once you are using the right hinge in the right location then position the top hinge first onto the body side, open the hinge so the door side of it is at right angles to the body put a spirit level across the two mount holes and then move the hinge up or down the body until the spirit level bubble is in the right location and mark the location on the body. Do both top hinges first and adjust so they are both at approx same height. Now with doors loosely taped in position and car standing on level floor use spirit level to mark both door and body with a centre line across for the end points of the hinge to sit on. Keep checking the open position level at all stages. Once you have top ones positioned drop a plumb line from the top hinge pivot point to mark the pivot point for the bottom ones and then follow same procedure for them. Remember you can only drill once so measure check then double check even triple check before you do drill. Look at Stuart's build blog at his hinge pics and it'll give you some pointers as well. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi np4wicked
Thanks for posting the info, I will have another go today and try to get the doors finished off. Good news is I have the full set and I was aware of the location markings on the hinges.
This kind of info will benefit all builders who have the separate doors, I will report back on progress.

Can be awkward with only two hands but use plenty masking tape to mark an hold positions whilst you check levels and measurements, it certainly worked for us.
