Nice build a lot of work there. Only part I don't care for is the front nose flat shape.. Like the rear wing and lower rear panel..

Is it an exocet he has modified?

Is it an exocet he has modified? No. He bought a roller bender, and built his own chassis from start to finish. Just a one-off car. His car still uses miata subframes, engine, trans, wiring harness, and steering from a Miata just like an exocet. Way too much work for a guy like me. Turned out nice though, in my opinion. He let me drive it. It's kind of like a lighter version of a miata. The sides are really wide open, makes you feel connected to the road. He said something about wanting to build a Rocket for his next car instead of making his own chassis, but he's afraid he can't get support. Is there currently a Rocket manufacture in the states? He said he tried emailing MEV to get access to this site, but hasn't heard back.

You say he contacted MEV but hasn't heard back. I do not run the forum so he may need to ask the forum. I understand this car is Del's, he was banned from here for using foul language I seem to remember. You go on to say:
"He said something about wanting to build a Rocket for his next car instead of making his own chassis, but he's afraid he can't get support"
He has a tube bender though so his own interpretation of a Rocket is next I assume. I wish him well. Not for the MEV forum though is it.

He told me he was banned from this forum without warning and I believe him. He was banned to the extent that his IP address was blocked. For goodness sakes, he's a guy with a two car garage that built his version of a tube frame car. Who is he hurting? Do you have a link to the posts where he used foul language? I'd like to read them for myself. Was he warned about the alleged use of the aforementioned foul language? It really seems like a weak excuse to me. I'm certainly glad to be here, but now I'm wondering if I should purchase. If I was half way through a build and got banned for using a bad word, I wouldn't be pleased.

Mr. Mills,
I spoke with Del. He said that regardless of his ability to be a member on here, he would be grateful for your opinion and feedback on his recent car build. He is a big fan of some of your designs. He also said that you are currently friends on facebook and that there are some pictures of the build on his page if you would like to check them out. His name is Del Loose. He would also like to invite any member on here to be his friend on facebook, since he cannot connect with members on here.
Thank you,
John Smith

I may be wrong about Del's ban reason but everyone is made very welcome on this very friendly forum so I can only assume that if someones IP was blocked that there must have been good reason. As far as I know only 2 members have ever been banned from here in the last 10 years! Facebook is another "touchpoint" for our marketing and we are very grateful for the support we get. When I was a kid I didn't take a picture of my cat and go around next door asking them to "like" it. Is Facebook a sad place with lots of "friends" or am I just old fashioned?

Some of the personal pages on Facebook seem like they are nothing more than people posting pictures of what they ate for breakfast. However, there is a Facebook page called "Exocet Owners Club". It's geared towards fans and owners of the Exocet, kind of like this site, but most of the people are Exomotive customers. Anyway, there is a lot of great information passed along on there regarding peoples builds and how they have customized their Exocet. It's a great group of guys and not too many useless posts. I don't know about you, but even if someone just posts a picture of their car, I'm a car guy, so I like looking at it. Anyway, you do have some great cars, thank you for taking time out of your day to reply on here.

I did notice that Kiwicanfly liked your last post. Del Did say something about one of the "Hall Monitors" named Kiwi-something getting on his case and singling him out. I wasn't a member on here then, so I don't know, but you yourself said that you don't run the forum. Is it possible that one of your monitors took things personal or had a grudge for some reason? You also said that Del should contact the Forum about why he was banned. He said "It's kind of hard to contact the Forum when my IP address is blocked". Just some food for thought. I know Del would like to be a member on here. He is a big fan of your cars, just like me.

None of the staff have ever singled anyone out or got on anyone's case as you suggest. They have a difficult job to do and we are all grateful for their efforts. They ensure that this forum is the friendliest on the net. Anyone and everyone is welcome on here but if rules are broken then it is the job of the staff to PM a few times in an effort to moderate and if all else fails then a ban is inevitable.
Glad you enjoy the cars, if Del is banned that is a shame but there would have been good reason. The staff will have had a discussion first and agreed a course of action. If it was for bad language then all I can say is that we do sell to schools and do have younger viewers interested in our stuff so we need to keep a certain level of dignity.
You will note at the bottom of the page if you are logged in that this forum is busy, average 500 users online every 24 hours.
Lots of people never contribute at all but everyone agrees that this forum is a great resource, no doubt very useful to those who aren't building MEV's too.

From what I have seen, you have a great group of guys running the forum. What would be the best way for Del to contact the Moderators to see if he can be re-instated as a member on here? He doesn't know how since he has no access to the site or the moderators with the blocked IP address.

You are able to contact the staff in the same way as I can if you feel there is merit.

What I'm asking is how does Del get in contact with a moderator? He cannot currently access this site with the IP address block on him. Kind of a catch 22. You said he should contact the moderators, but he can't since he doesn't have access.
