The day of the test is here 03/09/18 it failed on the following, test took 3 hours they took an hour to do the paperwork Design weights: the leon engine is heavier these it could have been done on the day but the car had to go back Rear fog too low. Suspension settled 10mm too low i didnt realise! further travel no handbrake: tightened adjuster nut on it. Steering stops needed to be raduised more as did the roll bar supports bars i fitted trim to both And horn spades need covering crimps exposed. i did the above and the car passed one month later . just in time for winter

Fitted the front and rear wings too and fly screen. Put the first 50 miles on it car pulls well drives nice ive left the suspension fully soft till the bushes bed in a bit. On the way home the gear lever got ever stiffer unit i have 3 gears left managed to get it back safe and sound though, the turbo had melted the plastic inner my cables run around the front and down the side onto the gear box. I got some new ones 5.5m long and a short shift kit to take up the excess movement. ive moved them and made a lot of heat shielding now.

After replacing the cables time for another spin all is good on this one although my heat shield is doing a great job of keeping the heat in to ill cut some ventilation in it. intake temps are 35 so not to bad. Either its unbelievable economical or the fuel gauge float is stuck but ive still got 100%

Great updates chris2000. Looks good with all the extras fitted. Why did you need to move the wing to the chassis, and how do you fit the engine cover now?

Hi Build it youself my exhaust is at the back to the lambda sensor was sticking up the body was very close and had rubbed though the wires i think the force of the wind pushing done on the body made it worse. Also ive cut a lot of the body above the exhaust to allow heat out so theres nothing to mount it to ill get some pics at the weekend and post them.

Hello Some updates Ive fitted a new fuel pump and regulator then the cars been re tuned its had a new actuator but seems to be a bit weak as it makes 8 psi of boost, ill change it for a different on to bring it up a bit. ive trimmed the engine cover a bit as it was keeping a lot of the heat in this has made a big difference to the temps. im going to put some sort of edging around theses hole to neaten them up a bit another one for the to do list Ive also changed the rear springs as they where pretty much compressed they are 375 lbs ive put the 300 lbs in the front as that didn't have much travel either. Had the car out a bit of the weekend turned up the bump and rebound on the suspension drives nice all being well ill be at the show next week.

If I understand this you now have 300 front, 375 rear? What did you have before? Just about to put 400s on the rear of my Rocket and move the current 300s to the front. A bit bothered 300 (from 175) might be too much at the front though.

Hi Kiwicanfly

yes thats correct i didn't have much travel left on the front or rear. now the collars are not wound up as much as i was before to keep the ride height where i want it.
