Few little bits mainly just located the water bottle rivnut for the top and made a bracket for the lower mount just need to order a longer hose to reach top of radiator. Mounted ecu on top with two rivnuts and a bit of foam underneath to protect it. Then looked at the loom, that's all I did as well look at it.

The loom looks bad when it is laid on floor or stuffed in a box. Get it laid out on the car and it will not look too bad. Honest.

Let me know what you plan on trimming out of loom as loads can be junked just need to think about any earths or shared components I guess.

Best method for the loom is leave it intact, put it on the car and connect up what you can. Next you need to get the engine running. Once you have a running engine and stuff like gauges and lights working you can look at stripping some stuff out. A good starting point will be the wires that went to the doors, the radio wiring and heater controls. You will lose some of the earths but the main multiple wire earth points are not really impacted by the wiring you will be removing. Stripping the loom when it is on the car also helps keep the bundles together and you can work out where you will need to extend some of the connections. Good luck.

Do as westie66 wrote.. Once you have it running remove harness cover and tape put slip ties on LOOSE to hold wires in place and you can slip out wires to remove.. Some ground and power wires go to a couple of things only cut to a joint of wires.. You can cut more later if needed.. Leave a little wire tail at each cut in case you have to put cut wire back.. Print this off in color and put in plastic sleeves to use in garage.. www.mellens.net/mazda/mazda_miata_extra_manual/1999_wiring.pdf

Thanks gents, finished expension tank today and filled up with coolant and made a brake line left to right along bulkhead but not flared yet as mates got the tool.
Started on the wiring loom just a small section just the engine sensor side but I've a few left over ha ha I'll start properly next week when I've got a few hours off.

Side tracked slightly couldn't find a gear stick gaiter that fit properly my cut out for the gearstick was slightly to big. Made a new aluminum panel which sits nice and flush with the gear selector and fitted a gaiter.
Started to look at the loom and droop it over the car just wished I'd labelled everything as I have missed a few.

Small steps today but steps all the same, mate came round and helped with some of the steps I've not dome before. Firstly though was the biscuits, not bad but don't think ill bother again. The clutch has now been bled and is now working and engaging gears took a while to get the airlocks out. The rear brake line has been flared and fitted the front near side pipe flared but didn't get any further without sorting out the bracket that joins the hard fixed pipe to the flexible section so these were made and fitted. Some jobs ticked off one more session should see the brakes finished and clipped up etc. The lad helped he steer the car back into the garage.
