do you want to tell us where that was? When you go through Hyde and hit the M60, if you take the next exit north you can visit where I used to work in Ashton-Under-Lyne. Small world eh? So you probably know the joys of Mottram Moor and the problems getting from Glossop to the M67 or Stalyvegas? I'm in the national park just south of Hayfield and love the roads, Castleton, Edale, Peak Forest, Monsal Head, Millers Dale etc but after 12:00 on a weekend or Bank Holiday its a wast of time going out.

Route I am taking to Castleton as suggested by RS2. Who is meeting us there, I think the Mevster and RS2 only, any others?

Was going to come over to Matlock (Sainsburys for 10:00) but happy to go to Castleton for 11:00 if you are comfortable with the route from Matlock via Chatsworth and Hathersage. (as per the map above).

After I sent you guys up the Aplecross I feel guilty of making further requests However what about a detour into Bakewell to pick up a Bakewell Pudding, no not a Bakewell Tart, to keep you going till tea time.

Hi all Here are the map details for both the Saturday Lakes loop and Sunday Dales loop. Your homework is to click on the links and study the maps and programme your SatNavs. We could have multiple departure times for each day and with small groups as parking may be limited at some tourist points (we are now at 20 vehicles). Tourist stop offs are also highlighted and for this reason driving was limited to just over 100 miles a day. Bob _______________________________________________ Courtesy of Matt: LAKES LOOP: Within that route you could take a shortcut in Keswick and miss out the Honister and Newlands passes. The Whinlatter could be done instead of the Newlands pass. With the Hard Knot pass it's probably better for those that want to do it to go over the pass turnaround and come back the same way since the road goes no where and looping back to any other pass is a long way. This link takes you to the detailed map with passes, sights, petrol stop etc etc drive.google.com/open?id=1Bw1COBEarpOvv8kN6OdQPVrbiWY&usp=sharingDALES LOOP: This link takes you to the detailed map with passes, sights, petrol stop etc etc drive.google.com/open?id=1qq0PYOhUuI1MlDNMi7GGkwc7oBE&usp=sharing

Yes as that is the last hotel we are staying at before heading to Peaks on Monday on the way home. I hope the weather is good as I am told if it's raining heavy then it might be worth cancelling. I remember the miserable drive back home from Scotland, but its only water. If we get 3 good days out of 4 I can live with that.
