At the risk of getting barred from the forum I'm trying to get some photos of people rear ends.
The reason why is the I'm using Gaz Gold shocks and pretty sure the ones I run on the MX5 donor were short body ones which is preventing ride height adjustment, currently 100mm ish....but the lower wishbones are probably just level and fully wound up.
Is everyone else's wishbones level?
Cheers

Stuart says that level is about right...however, check that you have sufficient suspension movement as my upper wishbones were hitting the frame with only about an inch of suspension movement. CKC's car did the same and failed IVA for this reason.
I should add that this was with both -40mm springs and with a set of fixed ride height GAZ coilovers.

Excellent - 20mm of shock length, or ride height?

the earlier Exocets were designed to sit at the same height as the MX5, following many customers lowering their cars we modified the chassis to allow more clearance. The earlier cars run at the right height with standard MX5 front springs fitted to the rear but it is a little stiff for my taste.

From what chassis number onwards did you modify the chassis for more clearance ?

Just so I get this right before sending off to Gaz for them to increase body length and shaft. As you can see from the picture the adjusters are wound right to the top but the gap between upper wishbone and chassis is still under an inch. i'm guessing that extending the body and shaft (£45 each side) will give me additional adjustment on the existing spring and thus increase gap to chassis and therefore increase ride height. Will I need to change springs as well or not?

Wouldn't top hat spacers be a better option?

Wouldn't top hat spacers be a better option? Possibly. I'm trying to decide whether to go with the Gaz Gold option of them extending the body/shaft or getting some spacers made up. Trying to way up the pro/cons of each! Its all about time as I'm scheduled to send it to Skuzzle at the end of the month for a few weeks whilst I'm on hols for a mapping session and alignment.
