Circuit Use - Summary Schedule, Guidelines and Rules
The highly successful AMM now in its 6th year, many having participated in previous years are familiar with the general format, for those Owners that are new, some it being there first experience of a track/circuit day and for those that were unable to attend last year please read on.
In the interests of safety we request everyone to be sensible so that there are as few stoppages as possible and that drivers build up their speed progressively as there familiarity with the Circuit increases throughout the day.
The exact format of the event will be decided by the Marshall's and Staff at Curborough on the day and will be dependent upon the numbers of vehicles and drivers, but generally we will run single circuit sprints in the morning and twin circuit sprints in the afternoon. There will be plenty of circuit time for everyone to enjoy themselves.
We would like to remind participants that the day is a ‘non competitive event’ where no timing or competition is allowed.
Although a more detailed schedule will be given on the day the key times, and important things to note are detailed below:-
8.30am - Circuit opens. You need to aim to arrive before 9 am so you can prepare yourself and your car before the drivers briefing. (for those of you camping the Friday night the facility will be open from around 6.00pm on Friday)
9.10am - Signing on. You will need to officially register and sign two indemnities on the day one for the Curborough Circuit and one for MOG/MEV/RTR. (Drivers are required to bring their driving licences, for registration)
9.30am - Drivers briefing. EVERYONE that is intending to use the circuit must attend the drivers briefing before being allowed onto the circuit. If you miss this main briefing you will have to wait until the Chief Marshall is available to do further briefings. (which may not be until the lunchtime recess)
In addition to the customary Circuit action we shall be arranging an auto test area for those of you that wish to have a go and during the lunchtime interval, we shall be utilising the circuit straight for approximately one hour to give owners the opportunity to test out there reaction skills and obtain an approximate 0~60mph time, further details of these and other activities will be posted nearer the date of the event.
All users of the Circuit, both passengers and drivers, are reminded to wear appropriate clothing, arms legs and feet will need to be covered, so no T shirts, shorts or flip flops please and crash helmets are mandatory, so remember to bring your lid. The Marshall's will refuse you and your vehicle access to the track if you or your passenger are not suitably dressed.
All vehicles must be silenced to a maximum noise level of 105dBa when measured at 0.5m from the tail pipe at 45degree angle at 2/3 maximum revs, tests shall be made throughout the day by the Marshall's to ensure all vehicles conform. (Owners can do a simple pre check using one of the many free Decibel Meter apps for 'smart phones' if they have any concerns)
Video equipment is allowed but must be securely mounted to the vehicle, no passenger held cameras please.
The event is not open to the general public and as such participants should be aware that the entrance gates may be locked on the Saturday while the Circuit is in operation. Should those of you that may, because of work commitments or unforeseen circumstances arrive and find the gates closed, the Management will be publishing a mobile phone number, pinned to the gate, for you to use to contact the Organisers/Marshalls in order to gain entry to the facility.
Curborough is situated off the A38 trunk road between Burton on Trent and Lichfield in Staffordshire. The venue is Brown Signed once you are off the A38, for satnav users postcode WS13 8GB should get you close enough. (link)
We not only look forward to seeing you all at Curborough, but hope you very much enjoy the day.
Now and before you go please take the time to frequent yourselves with the inevitable circuit rules detailed below, it's your safety that we care about.

5. Breakdown/incident procedures
Curborough is a sprint circuit and is not designed for simultaneous multiple car use therefore only ONE car will be allowed on the circuit at any ONE time.
Participants must ensure that their vehicle is safe and fit for the purpose that it will be used for on the circuit.
For safety reasons all users of the Circuit, both passengers and drivers, are required to wear appropriate clothing, arms legs and feet will need to be covered, so no T shirts, shorts or flip flops please and crash helmets with suitable eye protection are mandatory, so remember to bring your lid with visor or goggles (no rayband glasses). The Marshall's will refuse you and your vehicle access to the track if you or your passenger are not suitably dressed.
Another item that some members have fallen fowl to is noise restrictions, there will be a testing of all vehicles on the day, the limit is substantially above that that is required for IVA therefore anyone that has completed IVA and not modified there exhaust system since should have no worries whatsoever.
N.B. Vehicles will be checked periodically throughout the day for fluid leaks e.g. Oil, fuel etc. Any car found to be leaking any fluid will not be allowed on the track until the problem is rectified to the Chief Marshals satisfaction.
A speed limit of 5mph applies at all times in the paddock, pit lane and on all access road.

AMM - Curborough - FAQ - (Frequently Asked Questions)
Who is allowed to attend?
This is a club driven private event and not open to the general public, however if you are a member of this forum and/or have an interest in any of the MEV products then you and your family are more than welcome to attend.
Due to this being a live action motor sport event, we request that no pets are present. (for special exception re registered guide dogs please PM the Management)
Why are the rules so strict?
The rules are not overly strict and are fairly standard for this kind of event. The facility and track is governed and approved for use by the MSA (Motor Sport Association) and therefore the organisers of this event have to acknowledge and abide by the rules of hire, thus demonstrating the appropriate and all important Duty of Care.
I've got a kit car at the moment, but am thinking of selling and building a MEV, can I come along in it?
Of course you can come along, your more than welcome to arrive in whatever vehicle you chose, however participation in the track action is reserved for MEV designed vehicles only.
Can I bring along my family?
Yes of cause you can bring along S.H.M.B.O and your children, however we kindly request that you keep smaller children under the strictest of supervision at all times as there will be the inevitable movement of motor vehicles on site and we don't wish there to any accidents.
Am I allowed to bring a picnic and make a day of it with the family?
Yes, there is a catering facility on site, with waste disposal bins strategically located, if you prefer your more than welcome to bring your own food and refreshments.
There is an excellent, fenced off, raised grass mound running along the majority of the straight where you and your children can sit and view the entire circuit close up, enjoying most of the day's action in safety.
Are there adequate toilet facilities?
There are two toilet blocks catering for both male and female, one at the entrance to the facility the other located at the other end adjacent to the paddock, which includes a wheelchair accessible disable toilet.
Can I participate in any of the track action?
If your MEV designed vehicle is track worthy, licensed or even part built but deemed acceptable to the chief scrutineer then you are welcome to book and participate. (limited spaces available so recommended, book early)
Am I allowed to bring a friend and let him drive my MEV designed vehicle?
Yes, so long as he has registered, paid and attended the necessary drivers briefing.
How about passengers?
Yes, passengers are allowed so long as they have registered and paid, this can be done in advance or on the day. They do not need to attend the drivers briefing but will be required to, under the drivers supervision, abide by the same safety rules as anyone using the track.
Can I take my child out on track for a spin in my MEV?
We at present don't have a prescribed height or age limit for passengers. However common sense should be applied, in that they should be correctly attired and that they be appropriately, securely seated. There are no restrictions for the parade lap, customary photo shot, is conducted with no crash helmets and at 5mph.
Why can't we have more than one vehicle on track at any one time?
Curbrough is a MSA approved 'sprint circuit' by design and does not have the approved track width amongst other requirements for simultaneous multi vehicle use.
(If there are any further questions please post below in the General Discussion thread and forum 'staff', the Management will attempt to answer by including it in the list above)
