6th AMM - (Annual Mog’ers Meet)
To be held at the Curborough Sprint Course on Saturday 18th July 2015
The Curborough Sprint Course facility (located just north of Birmingham - WS13 8GB) has now been booked by the management for the exclusive use by MEV product owners, their families and nominated guests, to partake in a day of fun. (link)
Following the success of previous years events, it has been decide to follow a similar format to that of previous years. Although, as you can appreciate the fine details will be finalised nearer to the date of the event, it shall include besides use of the Circuit an autotest and 0~60mph timed sprint.
For those new Member Owners or those that missed out on last year's event It is the Managements intention to facilitate an event where by MEV Owners can come together with their vehicles not only to display, meet, greet and partake in the social side of owning a MEV product, but in the relative safety and on an uncompetitive basis, get the opportunity to drive their ’toys’ on a track as well as bask in the general ambiance of what it is to own a MEV.
In order to relieve any confusion that there may or may not be, the event shall be open to ALL MEV 'designed' vehicles regardless of their place of manufacture, although it is with some regret that we have to inform all that the Mills designed 'Friar Tucks Cart' (link) will not be attending due to its unfortunate demise.
There is only a limited number (30) of vehicle track places available for the event, therefore owners wishing to reserve a place can do so by notifying their wish to attend, via Private Message, to the Management on the Forum. Allocation shall be on a first come, first serve basis, due consideration being given for the owners kits road going status, a list of attendees will be published on the Forum in due course.
While road legal vehicles will be given priority, based on the success of last year's event, exceptions will be given to owners vehicles if, based on prior notification, they meet the strict safety checks laid down on the day by the Chief Technical Scrutineer, for safety - Mr S Mills.
All Owners are encouraged to bring their vehicles, even part complete, unlicensed trailered cars will be welcome on the static display. MEV have offered to bring and make available test/setup equipment such as scales, tracking equipment and a decibel meter for Owners use, free of charge, during the event.
Acknowledging that owners are spread all over the country, arrangements have been made to allow for camping on both the Friday and Saturday nights at the facility and it is hoped that with the track closing at around 5.00pm on the Saturday afternoon, members, their families and nominated guests will stay on and participate in the usual family friendly games like, ‘how far can you push a rocket’ while feasting on the usual assortment of barbecue treats, before enjoying good conversation with likeminded people, with perhaps a little light entertainment to end the evening off.
For those that would prefer not to camp there are a number of good B&B locally, including a 'Premier Inn' (link) where accommodation can be booked directly, conveniently located and next door is the Fradley Arms (link) where excellent food can be obtained at a very reasonable price (look out for the two for one £10 deals), some camping over on the Friday night often take a drive out to enjoy an evening meal.
Catering facilities, in the form of a purpose built shelter, will be available on site for the duration of the main event from around 9.30am ~ 4.00pm on the Saturday. In addition to the excellent catering facilities available throughout the day and if the forecast weather is as expected an ice cream van will be visiting during lunchtime in order that members may take the chance to cool down before the afternoon activities.
