Forum Guidance
Member-driven internet forums are designed to be easy for us to use - not evryone's a computer genius - so they are divided into logical sections, which then may be subdivided into boards:
Notices & Admin
All you need to join is here. When you become a member other boards will open up to you, including 'Forum Improvements' where you can suggest improvements for consideration.
General
A catch-all section for issues that don't easily fit within any other.
Out and About
Members or guests can discover activities and events. Come along and meet current owners of MEV designed vehicles.
My Vehicle
Here builders can record their progress, showing others what they have done - a build 'thread' allows others to offer encouragement and constructive advice, based on their own experiences. The Members are a helpful bunch who will make your MEV build as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Technical - (Member Only Viewing/Contribution Section)
Members can find a wealth of information to help them through the build and ownership process. While this is not in any way a substitute for the clear and detailed build guides provided with your kit by the manufacturers, it contains useful and valuable information based on the experiences of others that may help both the novice and experienced builder.
There are many examples on how to complete the various stages and activities involved in the build, especially for those who wish to deviate from the norm and stamp their personality on their project.
(Note:-Members are reminded that when posting in this section, they should, in the thread title, include the marque of MEV to which their post applies.)
Buy & Sell
Members can offer items for sale, seek to buy components or even completed kits from other, like-minded enthusiasts.
Tips on Navigation
You can view a large proportion of the forum as a 'Guest' (public www view). However, if you register and 'login', you will be able to access further content. After 'login' we suggest that you first check the top function bar (under the header photo) to see if you have received any personal messages (PMs) or notifications, such as people quoting you, responding to, or 'like'ing your forum posts. (We in addition utilise a unobtrusive 'popup box' facility to draw your attention to such notification messages when they are first received)
At the foot of the forum Homepage there are 'links' which will reveal a window of posts that might grab your attention. After scanning through at least the first page, if nothing catches your eye then, by all means, visit the Sections and Boards that are of most interest to you. The RSS Feed link presents new posts in a list format which some might prefer.
As you become more active by posting on the forum you may find it useful to use the 'participated' feature to keep track of threads, button located on the far right under the logout button. That as the name suggests, threads that you have participated in, Yes we do have a bookmarking facility but the 'participated' facility allows quick and direct access to the point at which you last viewed the respective thread, first unread post. This box will also highlight 'NEW' should there be any activity on such threads since you last viewed.
Likewise general threads on boards that are marked with the 'NEW' marker can be clicked on the 'NEW' marker directly, to take you to the point of last reference.
In addition to the above helpful forum thread navigation, you will notice an arrowed box appear to the right of your screen, this can be particularly useful to fast track 'automatic scroll' top to bottom of the page being viewed.
The above tips on navigation and general forum usage guidance are but a thin sliver of what is available to the user, for further more detailed help information on this forums functionally please check out the 'HELP' button second from left next to 'HOME' button on the tool bar.
Note:- For those of you that use either the ProBoards smartphone app or 'Tapatalk' - as soon as you 'login' you are presented with the latest unread posts by default.
