If only Stuart knew how heartbroken I have become after hearing that the Mevster is out of production. It's like a young boy just finding out there is no santa claus.
I worked over a year on my miata getting it ready (rebuilding) to build this car. I told all me friends and family about building it. Had my wife on board about spending the money to build it, and now its over.
I wanted a car to ride on the road, not race, the Mevster fit the bill perfectly.
I didn't want to have to wear a helment or goggles
So, if anyone has a kit they can part with and knows of anyone with a kit for sale
Let me know
Thanks for your time

Could you pass on the donor to someone else and go for a sonic?

It's a real shame - i thought he was really onto something with the mevster (hence why i bought the kit!) but ... I dunno, bot enough demand i guess? Maybe stuart could yake pity and do a one-off?

The sonic is nice but I think I'll look into the flying miata do to my wife likes that one also. I also wanted a windshield on my kit.

......... I worked over a year on my miata getting it ready (rebuilding) to build this car... I wanted a car to ride on the road, not race,..... I didn't want to have to wear a helment or goggles... So if I read you right, you have a prepped 'miata' and you want a kit car that has a windscreen and weather protection? Why not go for the 'Exocet XS' then? Link "Exocet kit but featuring revised front and rear styling and a roof structure providing the builder with the option of adding a laminated glass screen and a soft top" it ticks many of the boxes that I think your looking for. nigel

alr.. Get with Kevin on an Exocet race or having him put a cage on the sports frame..You can enclose the sides and put a snap on top to the frame.. and add a wind shield between the cage front uprights. The USA Exocet comes with all sheet metal cut and drilled ready to install that is a big thing.. Or you can see what it cost to have an Exocet XS shipped over.. to put sides on to.. Side rails are lower and it has the cage..

I see what your talking about with the XS.
It just doesn't look very appealing to me. It looks likes an exocet afterthought
The Mevster had the style I liked

I agree with you alr, the mevster was the one for me once I got the house move out of the way and the garage cleared. The XS doesn't really do it for me.

It is not possible to make kits at our price point if we make less than 20 at a time. Sales for Mevster do not support those numbers. XS front is the same (slightly tweaked) as the Mevster. I made it from a Mevster nose, the side rails and screen frame are very similar in height/proportions. XS is only available in the UK. Sorry if I have disappointed anyone but I am sorry to say Mevster does not make a business case. The body moulds can be purchased if required.

So if someone was really Really REALLY keen on a Mevster they could purchase the body moulds or commission the use of them from you to a laminater at their cost and get their own chassis fabricated to the plans?
What else would be required?
Yes they would have to be really keen but is that viable option Stuart?

We are flat out at as always producing kits so we do not have spare capacity but I do sell on projects and so if someone is interested in going into the kit car business then I am happy to help them by providing moulds expertise and plans for Mevster. Please email and we will see if there is a deal to suit all parties. I have to say I really do like Mevster and have no intention of selling my blue one. I had some great times in it this past summer, it became my daily driver. It is a shame to see the moulds gathering dust.

I think Stuart should take a survey of people who are interested in purchasing the Mevster. He just may find 20 out there. I for one will wait unit the end of the month before making a final decision on something else. It would have been nice if a notice had been sent out regarding production. I feel like I was blindsided.
