Hello, I am thinking through the spec for an Exocet build and was wondering how people have got on with the GRP seats from MEV in other cars?
I will be building for road use - with perhaps the odd track day but that would be rare.
Are the GRP seats comfortable on a longish drive? I love the look of them but not sure how they would feel.
I presume they are light but anyone know more or less what they weigh?
I am wondering if I would be better off researching some other seats for a bit more comfort. Any recommendations at the budget end?

What a strange coincidence, I have just removed the GRP seats from our demo Exocet as the orange will look poor against the body that is going to be red. They weigh around 4 kgs each. I have put the donor seats in which are very comfy but weigh in at around 14kgs. They do recline though and I was delighted to discover a cable going up the back, headrest speakers, brilliant. Mine are fabric though so a little rain may cause me to buy water proof covers (£36 on ebay a pair) The GRP ones are suprisingly comfy when you fit foam rubber to the base but you need to sit in one and make your own mind up I reckon. The MX5 ones are free with the donor though so that is a good starting point. Stiggy p.s you're still in time to book for AMM this Sat. I can show you the new version of GRP and give you a ride around. AND refund your tenner if you buy one!

I'd love to come on the weekend but my wife is having a baby tomorrow so pretty sure I would be in the dog house for a long while if I went to AMM. Next year, I'll be there and hopefully with an exocet. Can't wait to see some pics from the weekend.
