I have another newbie question for all you MX5 experts out there, what are the three outlets on the fuel tank? Feed line, return line and?

I think its part of the emissions system (goes to the black cylinder and gubbins around the inlet manifold), some have discarded the system as not required but others have kept (I am keeping mine)

Hi, I used the top vent as my cent so popped a 2 way valve on there. Other two are feed and return. Cheers

Ok cool, I'm ditching the charcoal canister, so with regards to the lines running front to rear I only need feed, return, and rear brakes. Because there is not really much space on the frame for forth line.

Is everyone else's space frame missing the four front body mounts, the bonnet bolts?

Yes. You need to fabricate them, I ended up ploy bushing mine. Cheers

So what do you use as a datum point (starting point)? There are no holes on the body and no marks on the chassis, The car could easily end up lopsided

Hi, I think the body is slightly lop sided just like the original, best bet is to sit it on the chassis within the wheels you intend to use and ride hight set, I have started with 120mm rear 110 mm front and then get it liooking right around the wheel arches. You can then make up brackets to suit. Thanks

I found the challenge was getting the proper relationship for the body/dash/steering column. I ended up with the body mounted as low as possible on the chassis but probably a bit further forward than ideal.

Ok so it's been a slow winter for my replicar, the pedals are now in place and I'm ready to fit the steering column, can I get a bit of guidance as to where the best place to locate the steering column bracket. Bolt it or weld it?

I found steering column position one of the trickiest part of the build, lower mounting point is pretty much fixed and the bracket supplied with the kit is the starting point for the upper mount. Definitely bolt it in place, you may need spacers to clear the dash. Final height is a function of the body/dash position and knee room.

My wheel seems like it's sitting too far forward, if I line up the holes on the bracket with the holes on the column it won't quite reach the space frame, any suggestions ?

Is there a chance the steering column is compressed, I don't remember having that problem.

The column is collapsible, I also had to enlarge the hole through the bullkhead. Cheers
