So that was an emotional evening, the body is now off and ready to be scrapped. The thing that was "snagging" was the last bolt from the sub frame, which I left in to keep the body steady while I did some other jobs, like an idiot I forgot I left it in!!! Also the steering column was an issue.

I purchased seat heaters from Rimmers and Interiorsseating charged me £20 to fit them as part of the seat build.

Seat heaters would be nice, but I cant justify them.

Plan to use the car throughout the year so some form of heating was a a must.

I have always treated open cars a motorcycles and your feet don't get as cold and wet (until it fills with water and you hit the brakes!). Spend the money on some good weather gear - motorcycle or ski clothes. I still have my dry suit but admit I only put it one when I'm using the pressure washer. Back in the day I remember wiping snow off the seat before driving, total wimp these days and head off to Arizona when it starts to get chilly!

Have to confess I'm still thinking about a heater. I am sure snowbird1 mentioned something about water flow being buxxered up if you mess with the heater flow and return (John?). Whatever (if anything) I put in will be very simply and to the feet, for some reason (probably age) even in an ordinary car I get cold feet, and will be either on or off negating any dash board controls (wouldn't want to mess things up.

R2S.. You got me there what is "buxxered up".. You can put heater in line same as OEM was..Back of head is supply and return goes forward to water pump down the exhaust side of engine.. If you don't want hot water flowing in car in the summer time you would need a valve to shut it off to the heater core and divert it to the return line. You have to have flow always from back of head to return to water pump..

I was looking at blanking off the OE heater connections but realized that coolant from the rear of the head is needed to ensure adequate cooling for #4 cylinder and for the coolant gauge to work properly as the temp gauge sensor is on the rear outlet. I'm thinking of using the heater core as an auxiliary radiator if needed but of course could be used as a heater.
