Roger ...the air scoop project is on "hold" . I tested the trike with no air scoop and with the scoop and the results were the same. If I have the thing floored for an extended period .. maybe 5 min or more ...again FLOORED .... it starts overheating ...the scoop didn't seem to help it.... but lifting off the gas, even just a little fixes the problem so I'm thinking that this will be sort of a "governor" for me to cool my jets on the throttle. FRED!!!
It seems a bit odd. It sounds like low coolant, or clogged/restricted radiator. When was the last time you checked the coolant? Not the level in the overflow, but the coolant in the radiator itself. You know, the water pump may be failing or t-stat not opening fully.
I ride mine flat out.... the temperature gauge stays dead center of the gauge. It stays normal all the time no matter what. The cooling fan rarely comes on and it has been close to 100 deg here. There is a cooling issue with yours to be sure.
I have ridden mine about 300 miles in the last couple of days. It took it down I-495 toward Cape Cod. I was doing about 75 MPH, hauling a$$. The closer I got to the cape, the cooler it got. It was great.
Hope you are doing better. Keep in touch.

Roger ..I'm pretty sure my cooling system is ok ... remember I did a different fan setup ... fan on outside of radiator ..maybe that's what is causing the condition but the only time it creeps above dead center is flat out for a long duration ... which is almost 80mph which I really should not be doing anyway so Ill consider it a speed limiter. Over the winter, I plan to do a major maintenance ..maybe I'll drain the coolant when I do that and see if anything seems funny but mostly , the EcoExo is super reliable and needs very little attention. I'd post pictures but it looks like my photobuket account is messed up.
Keep in touch. Fred B
