. thanks Ed and Erik and yes, I will probably just wind up getting either a custom spring or maybe the setup Ed has. I'm still in the "beta testing' stages.
UPDATE : Today I took my first "serious" ride ... maybe 20 miles including all types of roads including some 4 lane highway cruising ... got up to 75mph a couple of times and the thing handles and rides really quite good. (and nothing fell/broke off). I learned that I need a seat with more/some support on the sides for hard cornering but really the thing was quite good. Plenty of power, tracks and handles perfectly. I plan to use it as it is until next winter, then probably tear it down and get all the parts powder coated , etc. As of now, it's built as a "driver"
Looking good Fred. You have the same Eco Exo grin that Roger and I had
Are you going to cut down the windshield or leave it the way it is? Glad everything turned out ok. I spent quite a few months on the suspension to get to the point at where I am now and have not had to touch it in the 3000+ miles I have on it now. So for me it was worth the cost up front for the reliability I am seeing now.

I probably should cut down that windshield ... it is really an "air dam" ..and has caused trama to the front cowl and related mounting points a couple of times, trying to tear itself off of the trike ... but I dread making that cut ... I am up to the job ... and I know the pitfalls ... I also just bought one of those oscillating multi tools .... so I'm going to test that cutting system ... and then ,.... one day .... when my head is together ... I'll mask it off and make the cut .... but for now .. just enjoying the ride. ... FB

4/15/2016 ... another really beautiful spring day ... another 40 miles logged zooming around Penn's woods. Everything still working more or less perfectly. I did see a "change oil" light on the dash while sitting at a red light. Went out and didn't come back on...checked my oil and that's good so ....well I guess I'll find out if it's a problem but mostly only good t report. I have been shooting video but I still have not figured out which camera, mounted which way, will work without tons of vibration. One of these days ... I'll figure it out and then post videos of a ride or 2.
The trike looks great. Ride as much as you can before you decide to take it apart to powder coat it. The change oil light is a built in notice that Suzuki put into the electronics to let you know its time to change the oil. If you have fresh oil, then you can reset the notification light. The procedure is outlined in the Burgman owners manual.
I've been riding my trike a bit as well. They are just short hops, 50 to 60 miles, but as soon as the weather gets good, then I will be doing some all day rides.
Yeah, I would say your windshield is just a bit tall. I wouldn't cut it down until you found a permanent seat. Like I said, I like my Go Kart semi recumbant. Great side support and I sit down inside my trike.
Looks good Fred!!! Ride it like you built it... oh, wait you did build it.?

4/21/16 ... great day for a ride today . I am still in the "testing" mode ... I try to stay within maybe 10 miles of my shop ... Here's some video of highway miles .. top speed of 80 mph was shown at one point but I am told (and it seems pretty obvious) that my speedo is way off ... but you'll get the idea from the video of how great the thing rides.
It looks like you may have been going close to 75 MPH at your indicated 80. The Burgman speedometers read faster than you actually are traveling. You can buy a device that corrects this. I think the price is around $75.00. I decided to just leave mine alone. I have a GPS that I can use to get an accurate reading. At 65 MPH indicated, my true speed is 5 MPH slower. The 5 MPH difference gets smalleras I slow down. I have to say, you were driving like a "bat out of hell" passing almost everything on the road. :-). Enjoy.......
Looks rock solid. There are things you can add or change to make it a bit better.
The speedo is always saying you are going faster than true. This has been a topic of 100's of posts over on BurgmanUSA and BurgmanRiders forums. A speedo-healer will help to get the speedo more correct but then the Odo will be wrong, no having your cake and eating it too.
I also use hot soapy water to loosen up the dirt and bugs. Then I use Lemon Pledge sprayed into a soft rag and rub the windshield and body down and then buff it to a shine. No streaks. Yes Lemon Pledge or a generic brand works well.
On two wheels now, one is a car tire. Looking for a 2F1R trike.
I am poor, please do not ask me for money or tools. I will ride 100 miles to help for a beer and sandwich.
I checked into the product Dave is referring to. They are not cheap and for all they do, I can add a few MPH to my speed to make up the difference when I leave my GPS home. Some of the New England villages here really enforce the letter of the speed limit law, so the speedo as it is acts as my safety net.
I am not so sure I would want to apply a furniture polish of any sort to my windshield. That stuff is made for wood products and probably doesnt offer much UV protection, if any. I've known truck drivers to use a spray cooking oil like Pam to prevent bugs from sticking to the front of their rigs, but it just doesnt seem like a great idea, especially with a list as long as your arm of products that are available. I use Honda Spray Cleaner, it works pretty well, but also, if there is anything better, I wouldn't mind checking it out..... short of furniture polish and "Pam".
The Speedo-Healer is VERY expensive and yes in my opinion NOT worth the effect.
If these Eco-Exo's kits were based off the 2008 and up Burgman 400 then you can get a taller Car tire to fit and the taller tire does get the speedo more close to true speed. And the car tire will give better wet traction and last 3 times as long as the HOOP.

The Speedo healer is mandatory for many bike engined cars when converting from bike to car tires. I use it in my tR1ke and it works like a charm. However, if one is running the original front wheels and tacho there should not be any issue at all because nothing's changed from the donor bike.
Car tires do have a different compound to operate at a higher total weight if you half the weight of the vehicle it'll spin much easier and slide in corners. motorcycle compound is softer and a safer choice for trikes IMO. As for the milage on a (rear) tire I wouln'd be a cheap A$$ because it is no daily commuter and they are fairly cheap. Edward showed good milage on his Exo.
I purchased a SpeedoDRD S1 for my Eco Exo R a couple years ago for around $70 shipped. My speedo is very accurate now when comparing it to the Garmin GPS onboard. It is worth it to me knowing exactly how fast I am going without doing the math in my head every time I go out.
I am very happy with my mileage and overall reliability of the trike. The Metzler tires I have now seem to work well and seem to last pretty well also, so for me this is the setup I am sticking with.
My HIT race clutch and Dr Pulley sliders have been holding up well. The clutch engages fast with no slip when it locks up. It really transformed how I accelerate from a stop and was well worth the cost after getting everything sorted out.
Fred it looks like you have the trike running well. Glad everything turned out.
Dave. My Exo-Exo-R has the 2008 running gear, is there a specific tire size that will fit the rear rim and still clear the engine housing. There doesnt look like there is enough room for a taller tire. What car tire size fits and does it need a tube?
I have to tell you Dave, your math is all wrong. Since there are only 12 Eco-Exo's and I am the only 2007 and newer, the remaining 11 comprise 91.6666667% not 99%.
