Had nose at the rockets today all very nice and met huggy, good to meet a fellow builder although he's way ahead of me! Took a pocket full of cash but apart from some rivnuts, gloves and drill bits I didn't really spend a great deal. Saw a nice 320mm wheel for £50 but when I went back it had sold. Had a moan to rd about uprights but didn't really get what you would call a positive response! When i also queried about product from omp they said, and I quote 'problem with omp is that they are slow and always seem to be on holiday'!

Had a drive past the general direction on sat & today (to and from my grandmothers 85th with the rest of the family). Saw a lot of Caterhams, tigers and some other 7 types, plus a couple of buggies. At first was disappointed not to spot an MEV but am now liking the relative rarity of them as much as their modern styling.

Was a good show, exoskeletal wise.. Some SDR storms.
Cobras, lotus 7.. Ruled the numbers.
I was looking for a new project next year, but.. Think I'll be keeping the rocket. Still nothing as nice on the market for me.
Was tempted by the 917 Porsche, but I don't have the finances or space for it. That was the best car of the show for me.

Totally agree Steve.
Also looking for a new project, the XCS Cobra was top of the list and still is at the moment.
As kit's go the MEV's are still the stand out kits at the minute.
Rows and rows of Westfields and Lotus 7 replicas just don't do it for me, even the missus thought they were a bit bland.
Really want to get mine down for one of the shows, so hoping to be available for Donnington in August, might even leave the missus at home an do some tenting over that weekend.

Hi Ned
Looking to go to Donnington in August. The missus is even talking on going to that one so will probably hotel it that weekend.
Cheers Andy

I am so glad I didn't go down the westfield/seven route, soooo common. I agree with you on the 917, I have an rc model of this and the thought of owning a full size replica makes me quiver with excitement.

is the orange 'S' reg rocket with the full screen shorter at the bonnet than standard or is it just the picture?

Went today for a couple of hours, was cool to see but only a few mev cars left by the time I go there. Did manage to buy a throttle body kit from danST on the way out as an impulse buy! Few questions on it, pm on the way airforceone!
Was tempted by the Dax Cobra replica, but really want to do a Mevabusa too...I guess we'll see!
Want to get the car on a track so on the lookout for the next local track meet/anyone in or near London want to organise a track meet or is there one going on?
Thanks

What a fantastic show, we had a great time, brilliant to see so many MOGGERS enjoying their creations too. A decent turn out of MEV's was a real attraction to those considering a kit. The party night was a little extreme but I did recover by lunch time the next day. Many thanks to Jason for bringing his wonderful movie prop. Even more pics of MEVs were taken than normal as we placed it in front of our cars!

The Dalek was great, my kids loved it. I had a good chat with Bob (I think he goes under carbonbob on here) who was very helpful to me and another rocket builder Mikey. The show certainly gave me another push to get the rocket finished.
