That sounds like a good setup. I'm currently building ST170 engine for my Rocket. I did look into that particular VVT controller which seems to be a good one to control it properly. ... Next thing on the list is an Emerald ECU, loads to do still...... You should consider getting the ME221 ECU, it incorporates the VVT controller and ECU. They do a plug-and-play version with fully terminated wiring loom for £700. I sold my Omex 710 setup in favour of eventually putting that in

Sounds like an interesting ecu.
Who does the mapping for them?

Dam it, wish I'd known about this ECU setup before I'd gone the VVT delete setup. This would have been perfect. At the time when I started doing the engine I'm sure that ME only had the VVT controller. Oh well hopefully my fast road cams will make up for ditching the VVT.

Sounds like an interesting ecu. Who does the mapping for them? They do in-house, and have agents; I'd be bringing mine up to their Northern Ireland agent, assuming they check out.

Its good if you've got someone close with a rolling road.
I've got a 3 hour drive to Emerald which is fine until the last ten miles when the roads get really twisty and narrow.
Taking an 18 foot trailer down there is a nightmare!

Its good if you've got someone close with a rolling road. Yes I agree. There's a motorsports company about 5 miles from where I live with a rolling road who are experienced with Emerald Mapping so it makes sense to go that route and use them.

Definitely Jake. Having someone like that nearby is a god send.
Emerald ECUs are really easy to set up. I made my own loom in no time at all. The M6 will run your VVT spot on if you find you want to go down that route too.
Just drop me a line anytime if you need any help with the wiring.

Great that's good to hear. Thanks for the offer I may well need some help. I'll see how I get on.
Cheers

Taking an 18 foot trailer down there is a nightmare! Sorry to hijack, but I took delivery of the ME221 with wire-in loom there recently, looking forward to connecting it all up. Got €700 for the Omex, dropped £630 on the ME221 and connectors. There are only 28 wires! Cuts out a LOT of Ford acronyms; IMRC, FPDM, PATS, OBD, MAF, BAPS, FPTS. Needs a return fuel rail from a regular focus, AN Other Inlet Air Temperature sensor from fleabay for a tenner and I'm using the MAP sensor that came with my GSXR throttle bodies

IVA passed yesterday @ Beverley.
A couple of trials and tribulations but nothing to write home about.
The guy who I dealt with was first rate. Very knowledgeable and very helpful.
Best get on the case with applying for a plate.

Cheers!
Pics are on the way!
I'm just giving it a bit of a spruce up as it rained on the way home so it got lathered. Also I still need to get the bonnet wrapped in metallic grey to match my arches.
I understand there's a new way of posting pics on here as Photobucket is now a PITA. Anyone got any pointers?
