My TR1ke has developed an electrical problem that's left it completely incapacitated. I've not used it for a week or two, so assumed the problem was simply a flat battery. But, after an decent charge, there was still no life in the system.
Evidently, no power's getting to the instrument pod or gear position indicator when the ignition is switched on, so my next move was the check the fuses. I changed the main ignition 15A blade fuse, but this made no difference either. The system remains dead as a doornail.
Now I'm wondering if it's a problem with the ignition switch?
Anyone got any bright ideas?
Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,
From a distance it is difficult to diagnose your electrical dead tR1ke.
Most common electrical malfunctions are caused by corroded connectors between generator and rectifier and/or a dead battery.
1. I would start to disconnect the battery and fully charge it. Voltage reading from battery should be around 13,6 volts, when fully charged. 2. Check, clean and grease connectors between generator and rectifier. (triple white wires) 3. Reconnect the battery, voltage should stay at 13,6 volts. (If not, your wiring is draining the battery somehow.) 4. Switch off all accessories (alarm, lights etc) and turn on ignition and measure battery voltage again. It should stay at 13,6 volts.
Please share your findings.
