While reading the forum and build diaries I've been impressed by a lot of the ingenious and well thought out solutions and modifications which you guys have come up with - I wondered if a thread could be created to bring together the best of these ideas in order to inspire newcomers to the tR1ke? It might also be good to create a list of known "features" which people have come across during the builds and possible solutions to build up a nice online resource. I know a lot of the appeal putting together your own vehicle is to personalise it and overcome the challenges but sometimes its nice to get a helping hand when it feels like you've banged you head on the wall once too often Andy

Hi Andy, Thanks for appreciating our threads! There are many options to build a kitcar. I myself read all the threads on this tR1ke forum to make up my mind what's a goo or poor solution to some build topics. Somehow I felt lucky I had 17 weeks time before delivery to make up my mind about this. I don't think there is need to disect the threads to small topics and serve solutions on a silver plate. If you have read and viewed the threads you are already in winner circles I would advice you to read the regulations thread regarding tR1ke which I made which is highly informative as well. Luckely the tR1ke has only a few cons in the kit version. The springs are too soft (front and rear), The engine bracket need rework on most builds and a Speedo Healer is needed to recalibrate the speedometer. However, if I were to build an new tR1ke, I'd add a Clicktronik on my wishlist because I found the gear change linkage a weak concept (gearbox lever is behind the engine thus linkage tends to be a clumsy construction). I might change to Clicktronic later. Keep in mind there is playroom for improvement in the tR1ke concept. Personally I'd love to see the Atomic converted to a 3weeler with several changes I missed in the tR1ke. good luck! Erik

Of course: All mods are personal. Don't underestimate the fun of tweaking after your car is road legal.

Hi Andy, It is about how far you want to go and what is the definition of a modification on something you build yourself? Anyway, I fitted a reverse gear, extra tail lights, Yoshimura mufflers, headlights with DRL and indicators integrated, gear indidator with shift lights, safety belts (believe it or not, it was approved without any), removed catalyst, mounted a K&N filter, made a protection underneath radiator for preventing debris coming inside, made rain protection at the side. I am planning to mount a cruise control system and scottoiler. I also want to make an air duct for having as much overpressure in the airbox as possible, have to visit a dyno-specialist and determine the correct size of the intake stacks. So, I ain't ready yet, although I already wore my first rear tyre Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using proboards
