Started a pre paint build today. Pedal mounting is easy. All pre drilled for MX5 pedal assembly and steering column. Pic also shows wire wheels that bolt direct MX5 hubs. Alloy centre hub caps to be fitted.

Delighted with the results we got back today from our structural testing engineers. Here is a picture of the internal corner of the chassis behind the passenger seat. It shows how triangulation can increase the torsional rigidity without adding excess weight. The cockpit on any open top car is classed as an open box and therefore diagonal bracing in strategically placed locations can help to "close the box". I just need to fully weld it now and add a brace from the lower subframe mount.

Hi Stuart,
Are you aiming to have this on show at stoneleigh?

Yes it will make Stoneleigh, I do not intend to finish the car off. I feel it would be better served if left open internally so viewers can see what it is made of. It is interesting seeing it next to MEVSTER, hard to believe they both have the same under pinnings. It's like a time walk from the 50's to the future!
