I was itching to see how the seat was going to look in the trike so I did a temporary fit until the seat mounts get finished painted. You can see how the subwoofer fits, as well as the freshly painted tunnel cover that I installed along with the instrument cover and hood. I beefed up the front mounts of the instrument cover to fit the frame mounted pins so only one 1/4-20 socket cap screw is all that is needed to remove it. I also ordered some quick release pins for the rear engine cover so no tools will be needed to remove the bonnet, seat and rear engine cover. It can't get any easier than that for doing any maintenance on it. Hope you like the seat and how it blends with the total package. I still have to make a small boot to cover the hand brake and finish the CVT HIT clutch install but that will be about it. Thank you very much Kelvin.
I hope this matches your "blend in with a design" philosophy that you were describing in Roger's build.
It takes a while to get everything right even if it take a redo once in a while. The best part is being able to strip it to a maintenance level in a couple minutes. I really get a kick out of that but it took a few tries to get to that level.
Now I can just enjoys it.

To my mind Ed what you have done works extremely well and looks very much like a well thought out complete design and definitely has a thumbs up from me

HI Edward, I'm looking forward to see some info on your engine mods and what triggered you to make these The seat looks great!

It ALL looks good Ed. I am going to ask you to stop doing so much so the rest of us can catch up. You are wearing me out. So toss that cover over the top, break out the snow blower and do some mods to that thing. Make a tow behind trailer, and scoop shovel attachment, or power steering. "The trike... she's done"!!!! LOL

Thanks Kelvin, Erik and Roger

I think you will keep the kit pretty much the way it is. Am I correct on this?
The only changes if you go this way is to weld a bung on the lower and upper wishbones to fit a 5/8" rose joint. this will accept the standard misalignment spacers needed to get the travel for the front end. You get much more travel and a stronger rose joint to boot. This gives the customer the ability to change out the rose joint to whatever quality they need.
Have the engine mounts not welded so the customer can fit either a 2003-2006 or 2007- current engine to the chassis. This was Roger's idea so give him credit.
Weld all the tab's to mount the rear tank cover and rear fender, front bonnet. Again Roger's idea.
Fabricate a gas tank that will fit both year models and still be able to use the stock air box on both year models. This was worth it for me as it cleans up the back to be able to fit the necessary parts even if the radiator is installed there.
I think making some changes to make it easy to build the kit using a Burgman 2007 and above will insure a longer product lifespan.
Erik
I read everything on modifying the CVT and engine modifications and came up with the following on mine.
I added a Leo Vince stainless exhaust that would make the mixture run too lean.
I added a DynoJet DFC fuel controller to richen the mixture as they already had a map for it. It works perfectly and I have no problems with the power curve when I drive it. I also added a K&N filter but kept the snorkel in place as it was to noisy without it.
I am adding a Dr Pulley HIT clutch as there were many good reviews on it. If your clutch locks in about 40 feet the HIT will do it in 20 feet. In order to make it all work I am also adding a set of DR Pulley 18 Gram sliders.
The problem with that is wear on the sliders that can be taken care of two ways. Round the edges of the fixed variator plate so it does not cut into them.
Or weld extra material with a TIG welder on the plate so it is extended a good .250". Grind and polish to fit. This gives you a bit more on the lower end and supports the sliders so they will not wear. I decided to go this route.
I also replaced all the bearings and seals in the CVT and have a new OEM drive belt so I should have technically a new CVT throughout. This was the weak link on the Burgman's so I covered all my bases on this one.
Roger
I would not be where I am now without your help. Prodding each other just insures a quality build from both of us.

I also added a K&N filter but kept the snorkel in place as it was to noisy without it. Edward Nice upgrades you make here! I may come back on that later when mine is street legal Could you place some pics and info on the airfilter mounting. I just ordered a 46mm K&n filter to fit on the intake flange but haven't taken into account the intake noise so I have to use the intake snorkel too. The airfilter is potitioned right behind my seat so I recon it's pretty deafening... I need to change this but I guess my filter is too small to fit the snorkel andI'm very curious how you dealt with it. Still sloow progress on mine. Just finished reworking the rear caliper and the brake system is ready for testing only my mate got some surgery yesterday. Zzzzzzz.... not too much to show booring...

The snorkel I am talking about is mounted above the air filter in the stock airbox. It is the air intake for the airbox stock air filter. K&N wanted you to remove it for better air flow but it was too noisy for me that way. The trike runs perfect with no flat spots or hesitation so it looks like it is perfectly dialed in as the guys at Fuel Moto can confirm.

It's gone on mine long time ago...cut the box in half but found out a spider lived in the rubber bend so no luck on my mod LOL!! I may add one of these instead to aim the intake noise downwards if desired: hoogstraautosport.nl/webshop/index.php?route=product/product&path=119_101_144&product_id=368Seems to be the simple route I prefer as Scotts welding session. Nic mods on the variator. I'm looking forward to your experience. Looks like a good upgrade! greets! Erik

Thanks Erik Slowly the last details are getting done. I am still waiting for my painted parts and hopefully those will be done early this week. I installed some brass tubing inserts in my rear engine cover to reduce the 1/4" ID to 3/16" ID to fit the quick release pins. They should be here tomorrow so I will see how they fit. The inserts are about an 1" long and will insure a good snug fit. Tomorrow I am getting all the bearings and seals installed on the clutch and variator so hopefully I can have that all done and reinstalled on the trike. I will test it to make sure the CVT is working properly and then button it up. I also spent most of the day making a pattern for my emergency brake boot. After many mockups I finally got one that fits good and is easy to take off if needed. I cut the patterns out of the Alcantara suede I used for my seats and hope to get that sewn this week. Once that is done all I have left is to assemble and install the painted foot petal and seat mounts and I will be done. I have gone over the trike with a fine tooth comb and finally cannot fine another thing to do or tweak to make it any better. I also got my waterproof cover I ordered in the summer a few days ago so I am all set. Merry Christmas everyone and hope everyone is feeling as good as I am at this moment. Eddie.... Nice pictures, I had to chuckle at the parking brake cover. It looks like a donkey with no ears eating grass, then lifting his head up..... sorry....but it just struck me as a rather peculiar looking addition... LOL

Ha Ha Roger!
It looks better once the seat is in. I also got all the bearings and seals installed on my CVT and got the HIT clutch assembled and installed in the trike along with the 18 gram sliders. I fired it up tonight and everything seem to work ok. I will button it up tomorrow so another job done.
My parts are painted so I will pick those up tomorrow and install them Wednesday morning.
That should complete my build on Christmas eve.
