i took ages and was really happy, i wanted to bolt through so it was another secure clamped point. all that work and i hacked it out and was pi$$ed off. hope you manage to keep it mate

I tried to cut out the panel for the cylinders at first but as Paul said, as soon as you have to adjust anything or remove that panel to get access to the steering column it is a PITA.
I would just cut that corner out. Even with the corner out it's still very secure and rigid.

IMHO, if I was relying on the panel to support the steering linkage with a bearing, then I'd bolt through. If your supporting the steering rod via a chassis mounted method, hack away my friend. Tbh, I'm never fond of extra sandwich layers between essential components, that's my own personal preference though.

A few more updates (in no particular order): Front hubs fitted and torqued. Discs positioned ready to space callipers. Spacing requirement turned out to be 12mm as per a number of other builds.

Gently bend radiator bottom mount extensions (idea derived from "Jack and Dad's" seat bracket bending) Tweaked brackets in place

A few more steps taken: Bulkhead covered and trim fitted. Sides covered too (...have to 'carefully' trim/adjust later on as the bump steer checks showed I needed a little more packing than I expected. Oh well, not a problem).
