Freshlikesushi, our bars are not empiracle designs, the bar is bolted to a steel floor, it is reinforced at these points, you continue to make suggestions that this is not safe, your design does not even reach the floor! That would not be acceptable in the UK. The M bar is not for any autosport but offers a degree of protection as do most modern open top car bars or style hoops as they are known. I suggest you stick to building your car and restrain from using this forum to criticize.
The pictures that i saw on the forum a while back, they bolted with three bolts to the bottom of the floor structure (not a cross brace)
However, detailed pictures of different options (since htey seem to change and stuff all the time) may alleviate all the questions
My design is perfectly legal and recommended more by ALL builders i asked for quotes (race shops that build formula D/time attack cars) over any method that does not integrate into the main frame.
different countries require different needs. the poster that asked the question is not in the UK. he is in america, where our cars are bigger, and drivers dumber
I am far from using the forum to criticize. however, i do believe that i am able, and qualified to state on the technical details that i call out, suggest based on 7 years (while may not be as much as others) of building and racing in everything from motorcycles to time attack to drifting in the US and Japan. What may be needed and qualified in the UK is not totally in the rest of the world. Otherwise we would have cool things liek the focus RS like you guys do.
And i have yet to receive a response to my message you about the problems i had btw.
