Hi everyone, I am seriously considering starting in the kit car world but would like to know about the IVA rules and regulations. Does anyone know where to find the IVA guide to download or buy. Every time I type it in a search engine I cant find what I'm looking for.

Hi Stuart, You should find what your looking for on MEV's web site in the section Downloads, Titled "IVA Inspection Manual M1 Passenger Cars" the link is as follows:- www.mevltd.co.uk/downloads.htmlWelcome aboard nigel

Hi Nigel,
Thanks for that - bit of bedtime reading hey. Rather that though, than to get it to the test stage and find out I have done some things wrong which are difficult to sort out. Which model(s) have you dealt with?

Stuart, Having put a Rocket through SVA, what your looking for is a "good Fail" Your right to check what your doing, but i would expect a fail that way you wont be disappointed,, and if you pass its a bonus, ;D Scott

plus, a lot of the requirements are down to the inspectors interpretation. its much simpler to fail first time and have a finite list of what needs changing. no harm in trying for a first time pass though ;D will

Hey guys, (Scott and Will) I was reading CKC the other day about the tests and it said something like virtually all kit cars fail first time around so I wouldn't be dissapointed but what I dont want is a problem with a part that is virtually impossible to rectify without dismantling the whole car again!
I like this forum already - very helpful with no ego's. Cheers guys.

I put my sonic through the iva test the 1st month it was introduced ,at the test station at Southampton it failed on a lot of points some small some major , but every failed point together with the examiners we come up with a way to put right the problems , they will tell you what they want to see . if i was to do it again i would look at the 1st test as a pre test .GOOD LUCK. its well worth it . Hi Nigel, Thanks for that - bit of bedtime reading hey. Rather that though, than to get it to the test stage and find out I have done some things wrong which are difficult to sort out. Which model(s) have you dealt with? Stu I really wouldn't worry, however I can understand your concerns, and to be honest I didn't get a very good nights sleep before my date with the VOSA inspectors. One of the nicest things about the MEV kits is that 'Stuart' at MEV has been very careful to ensure SVA/IVA compliance is built in from the outset, therefore it is highly unlikely that there will be any major problems of the kind you describe. If you haven't read it already, heres a link to my Sonic7 build site and my record of the process www.mevsonic7.co.uk/SVA-DVLA.htmlnigel
