Hi all, I could not resist ;D I have always wanted a BEC, and have wandered past several kits but never committed - until now. The thought of the quick shifting and high revving has always been a massive fun factor thought for me and after a sneaky look at the new MEVAbusa, the decision was made. Although not finished yet, the Rocket has been a pure pleasure to build. The research, easiness in assembly, support from RTR and the forum have all added to the joy. The main part of the Rocket for me has been assembling the car and I feel I will miss this greatly when it is on the road (that's my excuse and I am sticking to it !!) The combination of style, 2 seats, exo, and running a strong Hayabusa engine fitted my tick list. I have done a lot of research already and have a plan of what I want to achieve with the build regards performance, color combo, components etc, so again I am very excited ;D Chassis is on order, engine is being built (with a few tweaks ) and parts list is accumulating ;D

YES! I am giddy with anticipation and cannot wait to see how your build unfolds. Can't wait to get my hands on one here in the US.

Hi Kevin, I think this is going to be a fun unit to build and maybe even easier than the Rocket ? I have learned a lot from the Rocket build, and although I have not cut any corners or compromised with what I wanted, their has been a few steps forward and then a few steps back to get it right !!

Hi, I went to RTR on Tuesday with the busa in mind, the thought of the fun factor of the revs is amazing, but down to aesthetics I went for the rocket, deposit down. I look forward to seeing this thought, my pal has just put a zzr 1400 in a mk
Good look with the build

Progress has been made !! Went to see the engine being built. As I will be using an after market ECU (MBE which is the bike version of Omex), their is no real need to purchase a complete bike as all I need is the engine and throttle bodies. I have spoken to many Hayabusa engine tuners and on my travels come across a 2007 engine done less than 4000 miles from new. The engine has been totally stripped and the following done: * New big end bearings * New mains bearings * Full engine and gearbox split and check replacing all seals and any damaged gear teeth/components * ARP con rod bolts * ARP head studs * Cometic race head gasket * Heavy duty clutch springs * Billet dry sump system * Heavy duty input shaft * Smaller oil pump drive gear The engine has been fully vapor blasted and all casings have been re-coated so the engine looks like new - and it does The sump has not been fitted in the pics below, but engine will be completed this week so will update once I have collected. All it needs now is a nice supercharger bolting on the side ;D

You must be expecting around 250-280 BHP when it's complete. You need to keep posting the pics, could be my next project.

Any closer to 300 bhp and above, will need forged pistons and rods, but the engine is small and easy to modify/remove so will not pose any major issue should I want to go to 721 BHP which one tuner can get from a Hayabusa engine

One word SWEET! Looks like its going to be another fine build, question is which one are you looking forward to drive the rocket or the mevabusa? Well..... I do like the Rocket, but then again, I do like the MEVAbusa. There's only one way to find out.....................Fight ;D Sorry, could not resist - bloody TV burps, love that programme !! I think the Rocket with the Car engine is going to easier to drive due to the torque, and as you are aware Tony, with a BEC you have to be on it most of the time !! Cant wait to find out

Dry sump oil pump now fitted. This fits in in the place were the OEM water pump was fitted, so will be using an electric water pump: Billet dry sump assembly:
