Following the success over the past 2 years of the Annual Moggers Meeting at Curborough and the massive interest in track days and circuit racing amongst MEV Owners, MEV have decided to re develop their test track facility at MEV HQ and make available its use to MEV Owners as part of next years “ BRING EM HOME “ event. Having now cleared the site of trees and various other obstacles MEV are now at the stage of seeking ideas to develop it for next year. Although acknowledging land boundary restraints ‘Moggers’ are encouraged to put forward their ideas on such things as track widening, circuit route alteration, features and facilities etc, posting their ideas on the MEV Owners Forum below for discussion. ‘A TRACK DESIGNED BY DRIVERS FOR DRIVING’the Management Please download the attached scale Drawing:- Attachments:

Wicked picture Kevin (looks to me like someones been camping on Stuarts land ) I wonder if we could have a photographic / video platform mounted on the top of the 'Stone Outcrop', be the perfect place to capture all the circuit action from. Or if not how about getting permission to access the Quarry Tower Anyone got any thoughts on how many and where best to place any required Marshall points ? nigel

Good suggestions Andy With so many things to consider breaking distances speeds I've been looking on you tube to remember when i last went round the circuit, lots of clips, Sonic a good one:- or even the original MEV Rocket:- I am a little surprised that a few other members haven't taken the time to comment yet, I mean its not that often that one gets the opportunity to influence a circuit layout ! You never know Stuart might even name the corner after you i.e. instead of 'Becket's' it could be 'Drockets'. ;D or even something like the 'Mat Hairpin' Come on Moggers make the effort, get your idea posted and lets make this the best it can be. nigel

OK, Here it is probably well over the top but its got some ideas in it, But i think this could work as you could rotate the direction and split the track up, with a central viewing point would be better but safety could be a problem without expensive armco barriers etc,

Don't have my computer at hand to redraw but based on stiggys map could the top straight down to the hairpin on the right be moved back (by adding a kink or chicane) therefore making it a circuit. Means that a car is not returning from the hairpin on the same bit of Tarmac and would allow more than one car on at anytime.

Ignoring cost for now, 2 questions: Is it to be a circuit? Is there to be racing?

This probably over the top and way too expensive. It might be a bit cramped as well. My thoughts were as follows; Safe entry and exit access slips protected by a safety barrier, shown in red. Additional track sections intended to challenge handling at lower speeds and not favor straight line power. Hence the short twisty sections. Lower speeds mean smaller safety run off areas Additional track sections to allow multiple configurations of the track. Grey section, new smaller main loop to allow entry and exit slips. The stone outcrop might make a spectacular viewing area. Just some selfish personal thoughts that reflect my preference for auto-tests. I really wonder what the construction cost per meter of track is ? I must have added about 400M of track in the various sections. Cost per meter soon adds up. I imagine any final design may have to be cut from a shorter length of tarmac. Hey , even if the track is "as-is" I still want to come along and give it a go.

As it is in a pit, what about a banked corner?
