Hi hopefully not to technical. Has anyone tried to fit newer calipers to the sonic rear uprights, holes don't line up. I was thinking of moving holes to accommodate, both holes in 4mm,what do you think? Have new handbrake cables to fit so don't really want to change to older calipers that have a different fitting.

i looked at fitting the newer calipers to my rocket... the holes are off but i also found fitting the discs to be a problem to. if you have the discs put them one and you will see what i mean.

im using mk3 focus rear calipers.
avoid!
you will need to make new caliper mounts to allow for a different disc offset. and even if you get them mounted the handbrake cables go off in a not ideal direction.
i would recommend going to local scrappy and buying the older calipers which bolt straight on, no hassle.
will

Thanks for the response,I will probably go the older way. Thought I had everything sorted before getting my kit,oh how wrong I was. Second day into build and bugger it. Need following things: Adapter to connect rack to focus. Different track rod ends. Different calipers/ handbrake cable. And thats just for starters. Though the floor is sealed and riveted.I will have to study the build manual very closely before making further purchases which are a waste of time???
