Great!! I like the plumbing in blue! I looks like a very clean build with acceptable visual wiring. I would like to pay you a short visit later when I am ready to modify the loom.
Btw. there was a KTM meeting in our town and I took some time to have a peek at the Xbow. The switches you have on your steering wheel are identical so I guess they are IVA okay and weather proof. On thee passenger side a fire extinghuiser was mounted on the floor. The most remarkeable detial was the absence of the seat rails, but the pedals have been mounted on rails and the steering column can be extended and changed in height. Nice car tough. Orange too!
greets! erik

Switches are IP67, so really weather proof. I mounted everyyhing also with special glued shrinking sleeve. The only problem is I will really have difficulties when I have to disassemble them, but that is no problem for the next 20 years, I assume I thougt about a fire extinguisher also, but decided not to mount one because of the vandalism-potential. Hopefully this Xbow will be better then the last one, that didn't win much races, so to say :/... The colour is fine, by the way. Also, the front wheel suspension has a little trick, just like the Radical racing cars. They do have a kind of anti roll barat the top side, which prevents the body to roll. Called the dutch MVSA today and they told me it could take for another 4 weeks to have it surveyed. Because I found this too long, I contacted another employee there, and he will try to have the complete job done at the beginning of may. Hopfully everything will work out, because I have a trip planned with my motorcycle club then... I started this whole tR1ke-project because of my disability, this can give me the feeling of beeing on a bike again a little bit... It will be very disappointing if I have to skip this annual trip...

Finally made an appointment today for legislation... May 9th it is my turn... F*kf*kf*k. Well, enough time for the finishing touches then. Also have to pay stupid kind of taxes, what only us in NL have to pay when buying or importing a vehicle. Hopefully, I can do this before the approval...

Well, I hardly have extra costs, because the BPM taxes must be paid anyway. This will also count for you and Edwin when you take the tR1ke to NL.
The problem is the waiting. If I'd knew before that it would take so long, I would have made the appointment a month earlier. But the last time I spoke the dutch MVSA, they told me it would take a few weeks tops. But now it will take 6 in total, and maybe much longer if I cannot do the tax thing in the mean time...

Hi, what are your intentions with reverse gear?

Hi, what are your intentions with reverse gear? Well, I ordered a reverse gear kit with Lynxae. Good company, very helpful, quick response and the product looks good and strong enough. I modified the frame for it and it fits like a glove. I made a "dedicated" electrical circuit for it to make the reverse swich on at certain conditions: Can only be swiched on if: - brake is applied - engine is running - gear is in neutral - next, I must switch on a toggle switch, - then a push button must be pressed, while applying the brake - the push button can be released then - Now, the brake pedal works as the reverse gear on/of switch. This means I can keep my hands to the steering wheel, I can look around me. I just have to apply the brake if I want to stop and release it if I want to back-up further. Can do this as much as I want, as long as the reverse circuit stays energized. Very safe, because if someting is wrong, people always push the brake automatically. If I am done driving backwards, I only have to switch of the toggle swich and the reverse gear circuit is powerless again. This all works very fine. Only 1 "minor" problem: 2 weeks ago I tested it. All the electrics worked really good, no melting wires, nothing broke of, motor rotated great... the wrong way around. So, I went forward in stead of backwards... At that moment, several question marks orbited around my head... I explained the problem to the supplier Lynxae.co.uk and they immediately shipped the parts to change the rotation direction. Without charge! Up to today, I didn't receive the parts yet. Seems like the forwarder lost the parts ... Hopefulle they will arrive soon...

By the way, I modfied the brake reservoirs, made an oil level swich inside them. Dutch regulations say: fluid level must be easy to check, or, a level swich must be equipped. Since I didn't feel much for placing the reservoirs in sight (vandalism), a level switch was the next option. A customer of mine sent back 2 wrong Atlas Copco oil level switches a few days ago... In Holland we have a saying "him who transport apples, eats apples" :-) I modified the switches a little bit to make them "failsafe" and this is the result:

Since I'm waiting for the mvsa, I got lots of time to get everything right. Topped up the cooling system and it works as it should. Fan operates from 104 degC and it keeps everything under control. I tested the handbrake for emergency stop... Well, if a lot of time is available, it works But also, I had to figure out how the rev counter gets its signal because I bought a really nice gear indicator and shift light in one. Eventually, it seemed the cylinder indicator signal is converted into the revs. Got it programmed and this works great! Will make a video tomorrow of it. Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using ProBoards

Here a short video of the shift-lights/gear indicator. The gear indication works really great, but only from revs above stationary.

Cool Cartek unit, how easy was it to wire up? was it plug n play into the ECU?
Where did you buy it from?
Been looking at the GiproX but prefer that and can get from amazon UK for not much more, just wondered if you had sourced cheaper?

I got it from a website called www.rallynuts.com. I don't recall the price, but it was somewhere around 100GBP. There was no loom available, but it must be connected to the speed signal and for the tacho signal, you must find the cylinder identification signal. Also, + and - off course. Setting it up is not so hard also. It is fully adjustable. You can choose between 3 background colours, blue, red and... Green I saw this one at the motorshow in Colony and it drew my attention because it is a shift light and gear indicator in one. I don't know if the giprox has the same features. Good luck on Wednesday. Your tr1ke looks different with the high tail.
I am very interested about the results.
