Hello. I’ve started already. Bought a part-built kit from Jeff Pike, and I’m going to rebuild it to my preferences.
Ultimately, it’ll be a 330bhp tribute to the lotus 49 formula 1 car.
For now, it’s a 1.6 bog-standard euros donor in a slightly rusty Exocet frame. Wheels are nice though.
The plan is to get it through IVA with the Eunos donor, and repaint it lotus colours, and later swap engine/trans/etc from my long-owned turbo 1.8 Berkeley NA.
Next job? Remove 1.8 brakes from the Berkeley, paint them, and install on the Exocet.

Hey Stephen, nice to see someone with an Exocet local to me (Bishops Stortford). I've been at it nearly 2 years now and am just about ready for the IVA (I've put in the paperwork). If you need a tool, a hand, an eye or some advice on the IVA (assuming mine passes!), I'm happy to help. - Gareth.

I've been following your thread, and it's been insightful to my own efforts. Keep it up!

Since getting the part-built kit a couple months ago, I've been mostly working on stripping my "other" donor - a Berkeley 1.8 turbo. The Eunos donor has great subframes and a supposedly perfectly OK engine. So, I'm going to put a few choice parts from the Berkeley into into, and put it through IVA before I replace the 300bhp engine, gearbox and diff from the Berkeley.
I'm keeping the Eunos sub-frames and suspension arms as they've already been powdercoated and polybushed. Clutch line is done, and brakes lines mostly done.
So far, the brakes, ARBs and Meister suspension from the Berkeley have been installed into the Exocet. All red! Just for the sake of it I took off the suspension banana brackets and painted them too.
Using the larger Berkeley brakes was a no-brainer. But, refurbishing them and painting them took flipping ages. Enjoyed sandblasting them though.

Just bought a bleed kit. Really cannot face trying to add brake fluid without it.

I did it solo using a jam jar half filled with brake fluid and a clear tube. One corner at a time starting with the one nearest the master cylinder. Keep pumping the brake until it runs clear (without bubbles) and then lock it off and move on.
